Dumb idea for a white guy to attend an all black college?

Don't do it. Go to a good, nearby, and majority White college if you are White.

The lack of diversity may be an impact to you, but you never know...

Only if you are the guy who has a calculator in his shirt pocket. I've known a few (white) friends who have done so, and all was good.

Didn't some white kid graduate from an all black college like last year? Cant remember the name of that college he went to but he said he got stared at when attending that school

I've been in a situation like this when I was younger, I went to a summer camp that was for inner city kids only I didn't live in the inner city, my dad just dumped me and my brother there as a babysitter. We were the only two white kids there. My brother got beat up a lot and I was too young for them to mess with so I didn't really catch much **** But racism exists in every color. So no I don't think it would be a good idea.

Not a dumb idea at all, although kind of a strange one to me.

If I saw a college advertised as an "all black college" I wouldn't even give it a second thought to be honest. Not because I hate black people but because I would feel like I'd stand out like a sore thumb and it'd be very awkward I imagine. But hey, if a white person really wanted to try it out and help support diversity by going to an all black college than more power to him/her.

Its possibly more to do with him being surrounded by black guys.

If your just looking at the school simply because it has the most black people and not choosing the school with the best classes for your future career then that would be dumb. If not, go for it.

When they were created, it was out of necessity since black people would have had a near impossible time getting a colledge education any other way. Now they are just termed HBCU(historical black college universities) but they are not all black because that is against the law.

That would make it racist and against the law. Luckily for us, there is no such thing as an all black college, only a HBCU.Last time I checked(which admittedly was 1995 when I was about to go to college) HBCUs tend to have a 10-15% non-African American student population.

I go to an HBCU and there are white students there. They aren't the majority like there probably are at other schools but we do have a good amount They dont get looked at funny or treated differently at least i dont think so. Now of course it depends on how you feel around black people. Obviously if you have issues around black people you aren't going to like it but that's solely up to you. The people aren't racists for the most part and you have just as much of a chance to fit in as anyone else. Also why do people keep saying all black schools when there is no such thing they are called HBCU's or historically black schools but they are far from being all black.

Well they're called all black colleges for a reason.

Just last night I was bored so I was checking out some african american colleges. the students that were shown on the website including the teachers they were black

I think the most important question to ask yourself is; "do I like black women?".

Dude it's really not that serious My cousin went to a HBU and sail there were quite a few whites and asians its almost the same as a black guy going to a normal university.wellbigd
