So, I just got done watching The Descent 2. The movie had been surprisingly ok for a straight to DVD horror sequel. I was actually considering making a topic on here about the movie wondering what others thought. Anyways, so I was thoroughly impressed with the movie despite some cheesiness, and then the end came about. I am sure anyone who has actually seen the movie knows the exact moment I am thinking of that brought the ending into the realm of idiocy. For the rest I shall post a spoiler in spoiler tags that, Gods of Gamespot willing, will work properly and not spoil the movie for anyone who wishes to avoid teh spoilers.
So everything had been pretty alright. The one girl I thought would survive had made it back out of the cave as the lone survivor. She runs and makes some distance away from the cave and realizing she is completely lost does the intelligent thing and takes out her phone and starts dialing a number. Now I had a feeling here that one of the creatures was going to randomly pop up and kill her, but what happened just ended up being stupid and incredibly random. So she goes to turn around and gets a shovel to the face by some random old man. This guy is not seen any point prior in either movie. He literally just ******* comes from nowhere and shovels our heroine in the face. He then takes her and drags her back to the cave entrance and leaves her there for the cheesy final shot of the camera starting to go back into the cave and of course the last moment features one of the creatures popping out.
Like seriously, WTF. I don't think I have ever come across a more random freaking ending in my life. It makes utterly NO SENSE and completely leaves the movie ending on a sour note. I mean you basically feel duped as all of a sudden the last hour and a half of movie you had just watched was undone by a completely random act that has no purpose nor motive behind it. It's like they just said "Eh **** it, this movie needs some sort of ending. Lets just pull an idea out of a hat and go with it." So yeah, anyone else seen that movie and agree with me? What other movies have you all seen that had endings that completely left the movie on a flat note?

The Mist, really? That's one of my favorite movies, the ending was shocking to say the least. Knowing just fell apart at the end, it was a great movie until half way through.

Signs. The entire film was extremely bad, but the ending just crashed the flick into a whole new level of crappiness.

Inception I'll tell you why. The stupid van took forever to fall into the water. That scene was horrible, the movie was horrible, the ending was horrible.

Spirited Away. After what is a brilliant movie we see a fairly average, cliche ending...

God, I thought The Descent 2 was an absolute piece of garbage all the way through, honestly. I'll agree that the ending was the single worst moment of it though. It actually made me laugh quite a bit with how random it was.

The Decent 2 ending was crap along with the rest of the film, I did not expect anything else from the ending after what it put me through getting to it, although The Decent is listed in my favorite movies the sequal was terrible. I can't' be bothered to go into details.

I think the ending to Cloverfield was both stupid and awesome.

Heres why:
Stupid in the case that I didn't want the characters to die, they were so damn close to escaping, and that it ended so abruptly. Awesome in the sense that we finall saw a good close-up of the monster, a hint of what awakened the monster, the post credits "It's Still Alive" audio, and the whole" I had a good day" part.
Hell In The Pacific's original ending was not only extremely abrupt but it ruined the rest of, what was a very good movie for me. Thankfully, the new restored ending is much better.

Honestly, I thought the movie was alright. Considering the usual quality of horror sequels the movie could have been ALOT worse. The ending really ruined it though. Like how stupid can an ending get? And to make it worse, that wasn't the original ending. I read on IMDB that the original script had quite a few differences in general including a different ending. It would have ended the way I had expected it to end, but even that would be slightly better and the other changes in the movie would definitely have made it a better movie.

The way he killed the guy holding his daughter was so generic. A gun shot wound to the head. Generic ending is generic.

I thought it was great. In most situations like that, there's a conversation among the hero and the villain and some long drawn out fight. In Taken, he doesn't even give the guy a chance to think. Quick and clean. Which made it more realistic.

Boondock Saints. That courtroom ending was so overdone, cliched and cheesy it almost killed what was otherwise a great film.

Eden Lake ending was not surprising, it kept with the mood and feel of the whole film. I was impressed with that movie, gave a real bleak outlook on rural tourist areas and it's set in a place very much like where I live, except the people are not all as unneccesarily hostile.

There was only one annoying point in that movie for me, the bit where they get into the car, they pretty much got away, they are home dry but for some reason the guy wants to drive through the woods at 50mph in an obvious attempt to crash and string out the chase.

As I said I did like the bleak mood that movie conjured up.

as mentioned before, i found the end to the mist exceptionaly bad, that movie had such a great build up and then the end happened, also i was dissapointed with the way that law abiding citizen ended, that movie was so good but the ending seemed so out of place when compared to the rest of the movie

A movie ending I dislike is "No Country for Old Men." But it's not "dumb" - I just thought it was kinda, well... the last twenty minutes I find myself wondering what happened to the plot, and then the credits roll and I think "oh, they ran out of it."

Eden Lake was worse than any horror movie I've ever seen, mainly because I live in the UK and it could happen to anyone. It's such a disturbing movie and it still haunts me.

I Am Legend,
The orginial ending had the vampires breaking in so that they could save the woman Will Smith had captive, and he let them all go with her almost out of respect,
But they picked the ending they did out of audience backlash, and the movie is all the worse for it.
