It depends on the person. Some people look good with them, other...not so much. Ask a few friends what they think about it or post pics  >__> But if it's something you really want go for it.

I think most men look pretty good with earrings as long as they don't go overboard.

Also, never, ever, get your earlobe gauged.

Speaking of tatoos, I'm not really a fan of them either.

I mean how many people regret them 5, 10, or 15 years in the future. I saw a classmate with a tatoo that said "Nymphomaniac" and thought man, that's going to be fun explaining to the grandkids.

However I have thought long and hard about getting my inverse trigonometric, and hyperbolic trigonometric integrals tatood to my arm (so I never forget them)

I'd say go with one ear first, unless your set on both. Try the style out. Don't listen to the weirdos that seem to think earings are only acceptable on women.

The whole left ear / right ear = gay thing is something that never existed until the 70's and 80's. It's simply not true. Gay guy's use other means to tell that stuff. I'm straight, but having worked at a nearly all gay and lesbian company (no, I had no idea for over a half a year because I have no "gaydar") I was told about all sorts of falshoods and this was one of the big ones. Which is fine by me since I've been wearing a hoop for nearly twenty years in my left ear. I also have long hari, so it just works for me. Also, I've yet to go out with a woman who didnt like the hoop or hair. It just turns out to always be me that they dont like after a while. \m/ ^_^ \m/

Least helpful but most honest response I can think of:

If you want 'em, get 'em. If you don't, then don't. Plain and simple. I'll go ahead and say that the diamond thing isn't something I'd look into, but that's just me and not you.
