Link      (Ok am I in the right forum this time lol)

Scientists believe they have discovered a earth-like planet, which may be able to support life (and may even contain it).
They believe the planets surface could support liquid water, and has a temperature of somewhere between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius (32 F to 104 F).  The planet is called Gliese 581 c.

It's 50 percent larger than earth, 5 times as massive, which would give it a stronger gravitational pull.  It also completes one full orbit of its dwarf star every 13 days (so basically you'd be celebrating your birthday every other weekend lol).
So its not exactly the same, but it has potential.

This is a huge step in supporting the probability of life on other planets, and also the habitation of other worlds by humans.
Think about it.  If life on other planets was discovered, that would rock the religous community.  So many possible discussions on this subject.

Discuss.

Cool. The idea that it would 'rock' the religious community is a bit of a generalization, however. It would 'rock' young earth creationists and other such fundamentalists.

Old?  Hmmm, ya a couple weeks old.  But it's never been discussed here so to GS this subject is NEW.
NEW.  Oh and thanks to that 998 guy for this deep insight.
Why do people enjoy sand-bagging new threads so much by calling them old?   IMO, if it hasn't been discussed here yet, it's new.  period.

Load of rubbish. That was merely a pimple on God's face, albeit, a pimple able to support life.

That's really cool, but why would it rock the religious community? Why?
