I REALLY want to start playing an instrument, and i have narrowed it down to either the drums, or the piano/keyboard, so which is easier to learn to play? I do ALOT of typing and stuff, so mabey the keyboard would be best for me?

Sorry to say but typing wont help you with the keyboard. btw both instruments are completely different and only easy if you want them to be, so it depends.

Piano is more than just moving your fingers quickly, there's a lot of technique involved. That being said, I would say the piano is very easy to learn, but difficult to master.

So the piano is easier to pick up on than the drums?

BOth are almost exactly the same as mastering them goes. My mom forced me to try the piano, before guitar, and I hated it. go with drums.

Yes, that's what I think. I have personally never even touched a drumset, but I herd that it is hard to get used to.

Probably, the drums require much more physical work and the keyboard is more diverse.

Like what? Guitar is too predictable, everyone plays guitar, it's not as impressive as when someone plays the piano.

EDIT: Tell me this isn't impressive

both are very hard to master, but not all that hard to learn.

for example, it probably wouldn't take long to learn crap like this, but it would take years of practice to learn this

same thing with keyboard or piano, wouldn't take long to learn this, but good luck playing this after only a few months of practice

Try whichever instrument you want to try. No instrument is hard to play, as long as you put the time and effort into practicing each day.

Piano. Its honestly the best instrument to learn, and I wish I picked it up when I was younger. I went with Guitar, and as awesome as it is, I'd be a better musician and composer if I learned Piano younger.

dude learn to play the piano!!!!!!!!!!! i myself play the piano, and let me tell you, its the best instrument you can play. everyone plays the guitar and drums these days......but see the cool thing with a piano, is that you can get a PIANO/keyboard WORKSTATION, that has all sounds possible from all instruments, so in other words you can play the guitar sounds on that piano and it will sound exactly like it. if you want to play the violin, you can play it on there...the sounds are amazing... look at a yamaha motif xs8....you can make all kinds of music with that..you can have a one man band...you can even play the drums on that keyboard with the piano keys. youll be amazed at what you can learn. i love playing piano, but be patient, it takes years...it takes about 8 months to read and play music sheets... and about 2-4 years to learn to play chopin, or anything higher. it depends how many hours of practice you put in.

If your gonna play drums, get a brain for each arm and leg. It requires alot of coordination, and practice. If you do start learning how to play drums though, you should learn some rudiments and stuff.

drums because its easy to accidently hit the wrong note but with drums there are no real notes, its just hitting the drums at the right time.

No instrument is easy if you want to master it but I have played guitar for seven years and I'd say that drums are easier to start with than piano. I recommend your first instrument be Piano though, because you have to learn theory with it and theory is ridiculously important. Drums are a lot of fun too though.

Tought decision. Try mandolin.
