What do you all think is the easiest school subject to teach at the high school level? I think it would be English because you could just assign books and have kids read them. Also, I already know how to speak English pretty well, even if I'm not a master at the advanced structural and gramatical technicalities of the language.

P.E. has been removed as an option. P.E. doesn't have teachers, it has referees. :P

The easiest to teach is anything with a text book. You can just have them read it and aswer the questions.

But then you always get the "I don't get it" because kids can't stay focused for long enough to read a lesson in a textbook.

I know it's a crappy way to teach. I was joking. Sadly I had teachers that actually did that.

Not in my PE classes in school. You had to perform at a certain level or you would get a bad grade or flunk.

I think that's dependent on the school, some schools have pretty rigorous PE classes and it takes more than a washed up ex football coach to instruct the class.

The PE teachers at my school have to put up with an immense amount of crap from the annoying potheads. I wouldn't really want to be them.

P.E.

All you would have to do is tell your students to run around the gym, then tell them to stretch after that, then play some sport/game after that.

No History was almost my favorite class. That's why I am majoring in it now and plan on teaching it.

I agree. I know some cool potheads, but the ones who give the gym teachers crap are always the annoying ones. But I usually refer to the cool potheads as partiers or something. :P

I would think it depends on the person. If you're someone who loves geography and social studies, then you're probably going to find an easier time teaching that then opposed to Math or Science. But I would have to say Math.

Other than Phy. Ed, I don't think there is an easy one, all of the rest rely on what ability you want your students to be on, and the teachers commitment to their subject. I would say classes discussing interpretations and opinions, such as Literature and Social Sciences, would be harder than maths and sciences. I'm actually going into History education, and in those classes you have to teach the student how to formulate their own thoughts on the matter, while the others are generally restricted to teaching facts, and formulas. However, most high school history classes aren't required to go nearly as deep, as students go into math with calculus.
