So it would appear that Christmas (formerly the Festival of Saturnalia) isn't the only debauched pagan festival that the Christians stole.

They stole Easter too, turning what was once a celebration of the joys of sex, fertility, fornication, etc. into a celebration of the resurrection myth. :(

""I was over in Australia during easter, which was interesting. Interesting to note they celebrate Easter the same way we do; commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus by telling our children a giant bunny rabbit, left chocolate eggs in the night. Now, I wonder why we're f*cked up as a race, anybody? Anybody got any clues out there?"

Oh goddammit. Whoever created that graphic needs to learn what the f*ck they're talking about. Ishtar and Easter are completely different deities with no connection between them (even if there are some generic similarities). Ishtar is a Semetic deity. Easter is Germanic. Nor is the egg or rabbit connected with Ishtar.

And as a Christian holiday Easter isn't entirely hijacked from other religions. It coincides with Passover, which makes sense given Christianity's Jewish roots.

Since he's gone 10 whole posts without calling for Obama's impeachment it can't be Lai.

Obama should be impeached because he is doing legal things that I disagree with. Also I'm pretty sure Obama is the reason for this falsification of Ishtar floating around as part of his war on Christianity.

Somebody likes to take things from Facebook wall reposts. As someone already mention not everything from facebook pictures is accurate. Here's one that my friend posted about deforestation that is also innacurate.

Christianity is all about redeeming people. This includes their holidays. Also, Easter is related to the Jewish holiday of Passover and thus is not related only to a pagan religion, only partially.

That is only one interpretation for the term.....hence we have this quote.... The evidence for the Anglo-Saxon goddess, however, has not been universally accepted, and some have proposed that Eostre may have meant "the month of opening" or that the name Easter may have arisen from the designation of Easter Week in Latin as in albis

Isn't this grabbed from one of those silly conspiracy videos? Pretty sure I saw this nonsense (the OP not your post) in the first half of some ridiculous video about 9/11 and the NWO conspiracy.

At my old church they said that Easter isn't only about Jesus but also to celebrate new life, so yes even in Christianity it's about sex.
