The teacher should of realized that it would escalade into a large conflict and just given the phone back and called the hall monitors or someon to take the girl away if she didnt stop using it.

That'd be even more funny(From my perspective of course). Sadly it was some school I never heard of. She should have just kicked her off the bus.
At some point, the teacher should have just let go and called the girl's parents. Better yet, she shouldn't have made the conflict physical in the first place; that wasn't a kindergarten class. Still, I'm amazed a kid would have the temerity to wrestle with a teacher over a stupid cell phone; the student is a complete idiot. Teachers deserve some respect in their own classrooms, and if the student thought she was being wronged, she should have objected later, in a more mature manner and a more appropriate environment.
