I don't use my amp, because I practice at night when some people are trying to sleep.
I usually don't plug my guitar in, unless I'm playing for my family

No, just because mine is a $100 piece of crap that sounds better with it off. Doesn't yours have a headphone plug in?
Mostly yes. Sometimes I'll be lazy and not use it but what I tend to play sounds better and needs the amp on.
[QUOTE="aaronmullan"]Of course. Otherwise you may as well play acoustic.Foolz3h
Lol, that's exactly what I thought when I first heard your guitar playing.
Literally, that you should have just played acoustic.
The phone couldn't take it.
What are you talking about :lOnly afterschools, playing with friends or using my awesome Headset (My Amp have a Line-out for that *works magic, too bad my awesome headset broke :( gonna replace it).. most of the time I play it unplugged, I'm evne playing unplugged right now :PI don't use my amp, because I practice at night when some people are trying to sleep.

I'm still lost. Not a problem when you're only interested in playing Death Metal.I practise on an acoustic so that I won't have a problem playing other guitars in the future. If you practise on an electric then you're not going to be used to acoustic strings.

That's true, though I don't see the point in learning guitar just to play metal. It's better when you can play a range of music rather than just playing harmonics in metal songs.

Is there a USB plug for the ME-70 or is it plugged into the mic?I don't use an amp at all , I use a pair of headphones connected to a Boss ME-70 and connected directly to my pc incase i want to record .

[QUOTE="ultrapc"]Is there a USB plug for the ME-70 or is it plugged into the mic? Plugged into the mic , quality is alright and there's slight buzzing when i record but that's mainly because i'm still using on board sound card but I'm planning on getting a decent sound card soon .I don't use an amp at all , I use a pair of headphones connected to a Boss ME-70 and connected directly to my pc incase i want to record .

Metal has a huge range, though, and it's pretty easy to switch between genres. I mostly play Death Metal stuff, but I've written some Black Metal, Folk Metal and Metalcore stuff.[QUOTE="CBR600-RR"][QUOTE="Diophage"] Not a problem when you're only interested in playing Death Metal. Diophage

I learned guitar just to play metal too. Why? Because it's a lot of fun :D.all the time and with my new Vox VT20+, getting a great tube amp sound without the need to crank it up at night!

I play mostly Jazz, blues, and folk. Metal has never caught on for me. Nothing beats playing Thelonious Monk on guitar, his progressions will melt your mind haha. Metal to me just doesn't have that nice warm tone I associate with music, it's hard to describe but I just never see myself playing it.you should always try to use your amp whenever you play an electric guitar. when you use an amp, your mistakes are more apparent and you can more easily tell when you f*** up. if you're not using an amp, you won't hear the screw ups, so you'll continue to make them without getting a chance to know them and correct them.
I always use my amp. There is a reason it's called an ELECTRIC GUITAR. Thre is a such thing as TURNING IT DOWN. playing quietly. its not hard, I play a bass guitar ffs.I don't use my amp, because I practice at night when some people are trying to sleep.

Sometimes. If I'm just messsing around for a few minutes, too lazy to set up the amp, or it's late at night, I'll just play without it.
When practicing something that I'm not completely great at playing yet, I'll turn on the amp with lots of gain (assuming it makes sense for the song to have gain...) so that I can easily hear when I mess up a note or don't mute something properly and try and fix it.
I haven't been playing much electric guitar lately. My setup just doesn't sound nice to my ears anymore :(
I usually cranck it up to play metal, yeah. But my contemporary accoustic and classical guitars obviously don't need them and I play them very often.
