Yeah that song is basically just 4 and a half minutes of waiting for Em's verse...he's still great when he's not using the stupid accent he used on most of Relapse.

Yeah, he had some great songs, like Beautiful and the two bonus tracks, but half of Relapse was meh. I can't wait for Relapse 2, though.

Relapse was pretty good to me. In my opinion, Encore was horrible. Anyway, I'm greatly anticipating Relapse 2.

I really like Lil Wayne and Eminems verse. Drake is not good but I can tolerate him. Kanye is just bad.

You could've picked a better example than that. That song was terrible. Drake? Terrible. Kayne after "Graduation"? Terrible. Lil Wayne after the Carter III? Terrible. Terrible terrible terrible. Thats the kind of low-grade crap you hear on the radio.

hedden93

Plenty of rappers spit about life instead of "just" money and hoes. Common, Fiasco, Cise etc.

He´s very good tho, i´ll give you that, but not based on your criterias.

[QUOTE="Ceneb"]He's always had it. :)fmacraze
well, IMO, relapse wasnt so great, but w/e

he's my #1(tied with Redman though) and I own all his albums...

the order I put them in are:

  1. Eminem Show
  2. Slim Shady LP
  3. Marshall Mathers LP
  4. Relapse
  5. Encore

Relapse wasn't bad, it's on par with the first 3 albums, but after Encore he had to go back to his Shady persona which is what Relapse really is, it's like a sequel to the Slim Shady LP, in my opinion. Here's my breakdown of the album.

Favorite tracks:

"Stay Wide Awake" (one his best songs in his career, LOVE this song, incredible)

"Deja Vu" (music that go to bed to or ride the train/drive to)

"Insane" (the wacky track of the album, funny punchlines a plenty)

"3 A.M." (blast this late at night all the time, especially when I'm playing Gears of War/Halo/CoD - perfect song to get in the kill mode)

"Medicine Ball" (if you ever doubted his lyrical prowess listen to this track, FIRE)

"Bagpipes from Bagdad" (say what you want about the use of that arab/funny voice but his flow on this track is crazy)

Duds :

"Crack A Bottle" (when i heard that as the first single, I was hoping for it to be a bonus track because I really didn't like it. Em should never try to do club music)

"We Made You" (as all eminem's silly singles, they get old fast, so this isn't a shocker)

"Must Be The Ganja" (why would you do two weed songs back-to-back, "Old Times Sake" is MUCH better than this track, this had no need to be on Relapse)

"Hello", "My Mom", and "Old Time's Sake" are good tracks, but I barely listen to them since I always have Stay Wide Awake on repeat, but when they come on, I don't skip.

As for the bonus tracks:

"My Darling" (this is a sequel for all the TRUE Shady fans who heard his FIRST album: Infinite. So if you don't get it, i'm sorry but it's a GREAT song)

"Be Careful What You Wish For" (the hook isn't all that, but it's another serious track where he's on point)

He never really lost it 'Encore' being he's worst album but still had some great tracks, Thought Relapse was great the accent didn't bother me too much.

In my opinion, MMLP > SSLP >>> The Eminem Show/Relapse>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Encore.

relapse and the blueprint 3 are my fav rap albums this year.

You have two crap rappers, one I've never heard of but was half decent, and then Eminem. I think Em wins.

Honestly, Eminem is nowhere near the best, I agree he's very good.

1. Marshal Mathers LP 2. Eminem Show 3. Encore/Slim Shady LP SSLP just hasnt stood the test of time, MMLP is however timeless. Im not going to even try Relapse after how bad the singles were, and hey Encore as mediocre as it was did have a number of great songs.

The whole controversy surrounded him got me interested in his singles back then, but it eventually wore off for me. He obviously doesn't act as crazy as before since he does have a huge audience in the mainstream.

I did a post with all his full on albums(as a review of the relapse album itself) on the first page but if you want to include Infinite which was an EP, then you must include D12 albums as well... so here goes:

  1. Eminem Show
  2. Marshall Mathers LP
  3. Infinite
  4. Devils Night
  5. Slim Shady LP
  6. Relapse
  7. D12 World
  8. 8 Mile Soundtrack
  9. Encore
  10. ***The Re-Up*** (doesn't really count but one of his best songs in his career is on this album: "No Apologizes")

Em is able to draw his listeners in with every line. He has a momentum to the way he flows that builds to a climax damn near every time. Hedefinitely owned that song.

What can I say... I've never been into rap and even if I listened some song, it would have been from a black rapper...

But, man, in 2009, Eminem released so good songs that even I started liking him and bought his Relapse. Totally!
