TGIF gamers ! it's about time Friday came along. I purchased a energy drink and will try it later on. I am new to energy drinks and wondering if they really work ? Do you guys take them and do they work ? Describe your experience, do they make a difference ? It's suppose to be stronger then coffee.

Don't drink one without eating first. It feels like it's eating your stomach. Also, really the only thing they do is make you jittery. To me, they make me really uncomfortable. Also again, it doesn't really matter which kind you drink, they all really taste the same.

I love Red Bull. They do give you a really unique kick at first, but after a while, like all drugs, the effects get weaker.

If you're going to drink and energy drink, drink Bawls. It does the same jittery crap all the others do, but it tastes good...:3

I don't understand how anyone can drink Red Bull...It tastes terrible IMO, by far the worst tasting energy drink out there.

I tried Rockstar energy drinks once. I did not like it. It's has a sickeningly sweet taste, and the after-taste is worse than diet-soda's.

Everyone that's been turned off by energy drinks needs ot try Bawls. I'm not kidding. Jolt is good, and doesn't have much of an aftertaste, but the flavors feel very overpowering.

depends on what you drink, some works fine, but dont expect a miracle, some does not really work, and some are just plain bad for you.

I do think they require you to eat before drinking them tho, the way most of them works, is releasing certain chems into your system, some of them (like coffeine) you get resistant to fairly fast but others (like magnesium salts) works pretty well, requires some substance in the stomache to work well tho.

Then there is gaurana (spelling?) which is a substance somewhat like coffeine but slightly more powerful, and takes longer to get out of your system (the mody will neutralice it in 2-5 hours)

then ofcourse there is sugar in some of them, which is not really a natural-pick-me-upper, it will not do wonders.

If you can find them, there are some energy drinks, made from healthier substances, lige veggeis, tastes horrible tho :s

They really don't have any effect on me, besides making my hands a bit jittery (which I like because it makes me play guitar a bit faster for some reason). I've never crashed like any of those commercials say. I would recommend Monster Lo-Carb because it tastes the same as regular Monster, but it has 20 calories and only 6 grams of sugar.

Caffine is kind of the point, and they have sugar free energy drinks. Oh, and I was at work today and the company that makes NOS stopped by with 4 cases of the stuff. I tried it, and it's my new 2nd best energy drink.

They really don't have that much. It's just a misconception. There's two servings and about 23-28 grams of sugar in a serving (16oz). There's 46 grams of sugar in a regular can of Mountain Dew (one serving). It's really not much more. They have some ingredients that aren't exactly bad for you either, like a 100% daily serving of Vitamin B6, B12, Riboflavin, etc. It's the Taurine (which is twice as potent as caffeine) that gets more energized. If the drink has high levels of Taurine or Guarana (a seed extract roughly 3-5x as potent as caffeine), it'll probably work quite well.

Some work better than others though. In my opinion they're tasty and go very well with some foods, and do keep you concentrated on whatever you plan on doing, whether it be a game, movie, or music. I don't drink a lot of them though.

They also taste HORRIBLE, AND cost more.

They also have roughly 3-4x the amount of caffeine featured in other drinks (excluding the extremely potent drinks like Cocaine and Redline), so they're not healthy to be drinking all the time. They're absolutely horrible tasting too, which is the biggest turnoff for me.

It depends, They can help me for a few hours if I'm EXHAUSTED. But otherwise, unlike on some others, they dont make me hyper or anything. *Doesnt get hyper* Caffiene doesnt have that effect on me in general, but past the first few hours, I'm back to how I was before, and another one maaay work, but most of the time a second one doesnt work and if the second one works a 3rd most definately wont. At one Point I used to drink them just because I thought they tasted good =o

I don't "take" energy drinks. I do drink them occasionally. They aren't the best beverage, though, since they usually just taste like taurine. If you want a real kick, try one of the coffee-energy drink combos. They aren't as horrid as you'd think.
