I never used to drink energy drinks. But I picked up the habit. I feel like I need at least one a day, no sugar. Monster Ultra Violet is what I drink.

Nope.

Tea by the liter to stay hydrated and slightly caffeinated; coffee if I need a little extra boost.

Trying to stay off coffee, though.

I would say nay. After praying about it, I decided that I would refrain from drinking them. I already drink coffee, so the last thing I need is more caffeine.

Used to. Harmful in the long run.

Energy drinks can have many disadvantages, including headaches, anxiety, high blood pressure, and addiction.

Headaches

Some people are sensitive to caffeine and may experience headaches after consuming it.

Anxiety

Energy drinks can increase the risk of anxiety. Young people who drink energy drinks are more likely to experience anxiety and depression.

High blood pressure

Energy drinks contain high levels of caffeine and other stimulants, which can increase blood pressure and heart rate. Both of these are risk factors for heart disease.

Addiction

Energy drinks can lead to heavy dependence and addiction. Caffeine is one of the most addictive substances.

Other disadvantages

dehydration, insomnia, jitteriness, nervousness, heart complications, obesity, diabetes, poor dental health, irregular heartbeat, and convulsions.

Why are energy drinks bad for you?

Most of the health risks associated with energy drinks are due to the high levels of caffeine and added sugars in them.

Who is most at risk?

Children and teenagers are especially susceptible to the effects of energy drinks.

They aren't very healthy, but every once in a while won't hurt. Coffee or tea is much safer.

Celsius is like crack, but it has side effects. If I use it too often I get minor inner-ear issues when I wake up, like vertigo basically, use in moderation, I never drink more than two in a day. I keep a couple cans on me when I go to work just in case I need the boost (I have a very physical job). But I avoid using it unless I need it.

Reminds me of the Fallout games, you can use certain drugs for short term enhancement effects but have to suffer the prolonged after effects.

Drink coffee and you know exactly what is in it or going into it. Should we talk about price?

Energy drinks? Too many ingredients that might be unfamiliar to those drinking or just too many ingredients in general.

I don't drink them, just tried some. I like the taste of Red Bull and similar citrusy ones, at least. But I don't care about the caffeine and energy drinks are pretty expensive, so I'd rather just buy soda or juice or something.

Remember trying one called Rockstar and was surprised at how terrible it was. I'm not one to shy back from basically anything you can eat or drink, but I could not enjoy that at all. That's gotta be the worst one..

Na, the taste of them is abit much as well, like pure sugar, even by sugar standards.

I tried Coffee energy drinks and don't like them. I rather have a cup of coffee to wake me up in the morning. Plus all that sugar in those energy drinks would give me a headache with my diabetes and make my sugar spike to 400.

I try not to, but I keep a few 5 hour energy in my desk at all times just in case I stay up gaming too late and have to teach the next morning. (Teaching High School on little sleep is NOT great)

In 2007 sure. Now? Not so much. However, even when I did drink them it was only occassionaly.

Nope, I stick to black coffee if I need a caffeine hit.
