Any of you who have heard the song will know its quite sad and emotional. To be honest is one of my favourite songs ever written

But what does he mean when he says: '' I dont belong here in heaven''?

I dont get it. Is he singing from his sons perspective? What do you think?

He feels responsible for his son's death. That's why he doesn't belong in heaven.
