I would think that's a one off, though. TV personalities doing it to evoke a quick laugh out of those "privileged" enough to understand the meaning behind the song. But then you get people who take it to the next level and just use the meme to annoy as many people as possible. That, combined with The Game and our dear friends at Anonymous (/sarcasm), and you have a forward thinking otaku's nightmare situation.

Yes, but I enjoy it because I like the song, it has grown on me over the numerous times I've been Rick Rolled. Am I weird?

Rickrolling, in and of itself, is not a nightmare but when combined with the Game and Anonymous, both plagues against human existence, it becomes a nightmare situation. Indeed, if I want to see people parading around in V masks trumpeting about how we all lost the Game and blaring Rick Astley I'll watch V for Vendetta while playing a video game and blaring Rick Astley in my headphones, NOT when I'm trying to enjoy a VA panel or the masquerade.
