you mustve been at one of the few resorts they have there. That is what I have heard about all of the poor nations around there, all of the tourists go to the nice places, but they never see the sad and broken down communities that are in there. Kind of reminds me of an extreme version of Chicago!!!!!I was actually kind of tentatively planning to go there and the Dominican Republic on a backpacking trip this winter break. I never got that serious about it, though.

No, but I've been to Puerto Rico.

So you've basically been to the United States.
Eeeh technically, yes. But it's much more different there compared to the states, so much that
It feels awkward to even consider it part of the U.S. It almost feels like a whole other country.

Ummm let's see...how can I put this...okay. If Hawaii and Texas had sex, and somehow
Hawaii got pregnant and had a midget baby, Puerto Rico would be that baby.

Then they all ate tacos and smoked cuban cigars. And the evil stepmother got away in the giant pumpkin.
Nice! Where did you stay?[QUOTE="CrystalFox"]

Well, actually what I should have said is I was born there. I came to the states
a while back, but every time that I do go back to visit it's to Lares or Camuy.
I never plan on going to that hell hole

The only thing hellish about it are the voodoo witch doctors. The people of the Carribean are usually really nice in general. I guess the poverty, espicially now is kinda hellish, but that's nothing like hell at all. There's still some good things about it.
