Well im a very light skinned Puerto Rican and many at first glance think im white but I've only dated 2 caramel skinned Puerto Rican chicks but its not interntionally. I'd hit anything lol :P Funny thing is that both their families were shocked to find out i was a Puerto Rican and they tried hard not to say any racial jokes about white people around me. I just don't get why people can be prejudice or have a heavy belief in stereotypes.(they weren't racist but if you asked they'd say something like white people can't jump etc blah blah blah they seem to forget they have white in them to.)
That's not to say I've actively avoided it or anything, but more often than not cultural differences end up being a bigger thorn that they seem at first glance - and some are just insurmountable if the girl has a very strict family.

As for the racist remarks, well I would be the one throwing the racist remarks at her but for fun since I have always been around a mixture of cultures and we would always make fun of each others races. I would always tell her she's the bomb but she never got mad at all so when or if anybody said anything to her she would laugh it off but like I said I have always been around a mixture of people so that was never the issue. My suggestion is to laugh it off since the one with problem is them not you 2. Let them carry the anger while you go on happy.
The only person I know that would have anything against it is my dad. Friends wouldn't have any problem with it. Neither would people in general in this city.
I've dated a mixed race boy. Well he wasn't really mixed race because his parents and grandparents were all white. His brother was white. And he was mixed. I still think he came from the milkman :P He had green eyes which was the best thing - it's really rare for darker people.
