...time playing video games? I used to sit on my behind all day playing NHL 08. I would miss appointments, show up late for work because I'd be playing the game late the night before, even call out from work pretending to be sick so I could play NHL. I was a bad sinner. I'd get drunk, fornicate, and live like a lazy bum in my parent's basement playing this game. So what saved me? Well my grandfather passed away, his life was commited to Jesus Chrsit our Lord and Savior. I never ponderd much the thought of having God in my life, I was an athiest. But then, because of my grandfather's death, I decided to start reading the bible. And boy, how the blessings started to come upon me. I moved from the ghetto to a rich neighborhood, thanks to God. I started showing obedience to Him by cutting out the video games, the masturbation the drunkness, and I was rewarded. All that time I spend engulfed in sin left me with temporary pleasure, and after that wore off I felt alone and sad. Then by the grace of God I was forgiven for my sins and have been experiencing peace and joy ever since. I want to touch on a subject that troubles much of the video gaming community. And that is celibacy. For enlightenment from the word of your Master God, read on. Your Heavenly Father loves you and wants you to be happy today and forever. He has given counsel and commanments through His prophets to help you. One commandment that is vital to your peace and happiness is His commandment regarding sexual purity, known as the law of chastity. The Lord instituted this law from the beginning, and He emphasized its importance to the Prophet Jospeh Smith as part of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus *. Obedience to this commandment will the Holy Ghost a place to dwell within you. What is the Law of Chastity? Physical intimacy between husband and wife is a beautiful and sacred part of God's plan for his children. It allows for creation of life. God has expressed that this sacred power be expressed only between a man and a women who are legally married. The law of chastity includes strict abstinence from sexual relations before marriage and complete fidelety and loyalty to one's spouse after marriage. In addition to resereving sexual intamacy for marriage, we obey the law of chastity by controlling our thoughts, words, and actions. Jesus Christ taught, "Whosoever looketh on a women to lust after her hath committed audultry with her already in his heart." (Matthew 5: 28) So never even look at another women with lust, for doing so is a sin. Why Should I Keep the Law of Chastity? As you live the law of chastity, you will: - Invite the Holy Ghost into your life - Develop greater self- respect as you exercise self- control - Have greater confidence in your relationships - Increase in love for those around you How Do I Keep the Law of Chastity? God requires a high moral standard of His children. To keep the law of chastity, you must replace undesirable thoughts, words, and actions with wholesome ones. The following principles will help: Thoughts. Positive thoughts will push negative thoughts from your life. You will grow in your ability to replace negative thoughts as you fill your life with wholesome thoughts and activities. Reading scriptures, serving your family, working diligently, and engaging in wholesome recreational activities will help you control your thoughts. Avoid pornography in all forms. It's addictive and destructive. It robs you of your self- respect and of an appreciation for the beauties of life. Do not allow your mind to dwell on obscene or immoral thoughts or images. Avoid looking with lustful thoughts or others, and avoid suggestive or explicit movies, TV shows, internet sites, music, books, magazines, and activities. Words. Let your words build up others and strenghten them. Eliminate degrading, vulgar, and sexually explicit words, jokes, and themes from your conversations. Actions. Always treat others with respect. Be modest in how you dress (remember, modest is hottest). If you remember that each person is a child of God, and if you fo all you can to help others follow His plan, then you will be strengthened in your desire to keep the law of chastity. Determine now that you will not do anything outside marriage to arouse the powerful emotions that must be expressed only in marriage. Do not arose those emotions in other persons or yourself. Do not participate in homosexual or lesbian acts or immoral activities. Replace activities where you may be tempted to violate the law of chastity with constructive activities and hobbies. In marriage, remain absolutely faithful to your spouse in thought and action. Because living the law of chastity will bring you closer to God, Satan will entice you to break this commandment. He knows when you're lonely, confused, or depressed, and he will tempt you when you are weak. Pray to your Heavenly Father for help, and He will give you strength to resist temptation. As you rely on Him and follow these principles, you will be able to overcome temptation. Blessing of Living the Law of Chastity As you live the law of chastity, you will be more open to influence of the Holy Ghost. With the guidance of the Holy Ghost, you will develop greater wisdom, face trials with greater courage, feel God's support and direction in your life, and be an example to your family and others. The love you have for your spouse and loved ones will be deeper, richer, and more meaningful. You will experience greater peace of mind. Regardless of what you have done in the past, great blessings are available to you if you begin now to live the law of chastity.

The fact that 80% of it is a ridiculously contradictory fiction novel, and the other 20% is all learned at an early age without the need to waste your time reading the whole pointlessly long book. Well if it is a fictional novel it is the greatest fictional book ever written. I can give you testimonies from billions of people whom say their lives have been saved by Christ and the teachings of holy scriptures. How many people can ye say that about who have read Harry Potter or any other fictional book ye can think of? Religon doesn't contradict itself all that much. Islam, judiasm, christianity, buddishm, hunduism, all teach us to love on another, don't do bad things, and that God is loving and haveth mercy upon us sinners. The only major difference is in whom their almighty power is. Islam has God (Allah), the same God christians and jews worship. While Islam believeth that Jesus isn't a God, christians believe He is a God, and jews believeth that Jesus never died for our sins as christians doth. If ye are looking for happiness and answers to lifes questions just turn to Allah and His word.

Read the book of Genesis. In the begining God created the heavens and the earth, the fish and the sea, all the land, and every animal in it. Then God picked up dirt, formed a nostral, and blew into it, creating a man, he called the man Adam. Then God took a piece of Adam's rib and created woman. And God commanded them to be fruitful and multiply.
i really only play about 2 hours at the most of video games a day. usually its even less. i havent even touched a gaming system at all today

Ye spendeth to much time on the console. Two hours playing with a childish electronic device is unhealthy, that is two hours ye could spendeth reading holy scriptures, exercising, visiting sick people in the hospital. Ye needeth to get rid of the console; and if ye can't temper yourself from it, and I suspect ye can't, ye needeth to sell it on ebay- thats what I did. The fidelity within VGs (degree in which sound and images are recorded) is too great for every day people. Call of Duty makes for a great simulation if ye are to be a solider in war, but what about for the rest of us that have to liveth normal live? I can't think of one benifical aspect that cometh from playing such a game to you or me.
