The funny thing is how FAST it progressed. Like, me feeling completely normal and then only about an hour later spewing fluids all over the place. And how quickly it cleared up. I mentioned that I was considering seeing the doctor the next day. But in one case I felt so much better by morning that I didn't think it was worth shelling out money for a doctor since I was clearly getting better. And in the other case (which was actually worse), I actually felt completely fine by about noon of the next day (aside from being a bit tired and sluggish from having spent the previous night constantly having to get out of bed to expel fluids).
I guess it could have been viral, but I suspect the quickness of it and the short duration of it means that I likely just ate something bad. And that once I flushed all of it out, I recovered quickly.
But again, I don't like to do the self-diagnosis thing. I think it was probably food poisoning, but it could have been anything. Even if it was bacterial, it wasn't necessarily food related. Could have been due to a lapse of proper hygeine when handling money or opening public doors. Or since I also keep reptiles, it could have been a lapse of hygiene with regards to their handling. No way to know. There are so many ways that a person can get sick that it's really hard to narrow down something like "I got sick from eating this food" unless you've got an actual diagnosis of food-related illness as well as multiple accounts of other people getting sick from eating the same thing. I mean, one of the reasons for food products not being recalled until a bunch of people have gotten sick is because it's pretty darn hard to tie down one person's sickness to a specific cause unless there are multiple cases of it. On any given day, there are so many things that COULD make me sick that it's damn hard to tell me what ACTUALLY made me sick. Especially when I haven't even gotten a proper diagnosis on what kind of sickness I even have.
