19? i was expecting you to say 30 or something. no way, you are still extremely young my friend, don't worry about it. I'll be starting univeristy in september and im 20, started late cause of a mix of what you said and other stuff

But all in all, it's never too late to start or restart your education, unless you're dead

Oh it's perfectly fine. One of my best friends is about 5 years older than me. We met the first week of our freshman year in college. Being a year or two behind is no problem. Heck, being a 40 year old in college is normal. While I started and finished college on time, I started attending another school for my Masters this past Fall. Though I am actually "on time," I am one of the youngest in all of my classes. However, I am now taking some time off to regain some sanity. :P

I don't think it's ever 'too late' to start college, really. Of course there is a point at which starting college at a certain age will feel strange because you won't really be able to relate to the majority of the undergraduate population, but it's still not 'too late.' I don't know what the exact age for that 'point' would be, but it is certainly not even in your twenties.

I've been wondering too. What happens when youre 26 and have rent to pay etc.? I'm 20 right now, been doing pilot training, but I'm worried about my eyesight deteriorating (I'm seeing specks when I look into the sky, not the best for flying). If I end up having to take medication, I won't be able to fly anyways (not even allowed gravol/tylenol). I'll be moving out soon too.

How are you going to get into College if your GPA isn't even high enough to graduate?

Also, 19 is really young. If you had the marks 19 is average for starting College and I wouldn't consider it weird to be 35 and going to college. Getting your education >>> not getting your education despite your age.

I graduate high school this tuesday and at this point, I don't plan on going to college. but it's never too late to start college. just not too long ago, some woman in her 90's finished college :P and my girlfriends mom is trying to be an actual lawyer instead of a paralegal so she's taking college classes again even though she's in her 40's.

I would say as long as you haven't had a discussion with your regular physician that contained the phrase "Six months to live", you've got plenty of time.

Some people actually are almost 19 when they graduate high school. I don't think its ever too late to start college. Most would probably be 18-25.

I started college at 18... Personally I feel that anyone should start early if college is what they want to do. The more you wait to get started in life, the more time you waste. Most people I see at college probably got started at 18 or 19. If you wait till you're older, then you're going to have to deal with being around younger people (18-20's).

19 is definitely still very young. I had to go back to work after my first year of college so I can pay my tuition since my grades are not so great. I'm about 20 now, going back to college.

Plus most people in college vary in age... A lot (like a lot more than you would think) take a year or even more off between HS and college, or between years in college... Most of the people in my classes (which are mostly general education right now (not major related) -) are in the mid to late 20's... And I am only 19...

Hell in my 400 level PLS class, everyone in my study group is married and 2 of them have kids... And I am freakin 19... Perfectly normal...

I was 19 a month into my first year at university, in fact, you have to be 18 to go to university here so you'd be 19 within the first year anyway, perfectly normal to me. Plus there's loads of people of all ages here, there was 2 guys in my programming class who I think were in their late 40's early 50's.

It is absolutely never too late to attend college.

The mistake people make is that they tend to think of college as something you're supposed to do for x number of years and finish with a degree, but the reality is that any knowledge or experience you gain from a college c-l-a-s-s is useful. You don't have to earn a degree or take a certain number of units for attending college to be "worth it".

For example, let's say you're a web designer with plenty of experience in HTML/CSS, Javascript and Flash, but you've never really worked with a server-side scripting language like PHP or CGI before. If you can take a c-l-a-s-s or two and become proficient in one or more of these languages, you now have another competitive skill to add to your resume.

No matter where you are in life or what your goals are, there is always a reason to further your education, and it is never too late to attend college.

Never. We typically start college here at 16 or 17. But there are others who work first and start at 20 (or stop in the middle and go back after 2-3 years). In perspective, you're not that late, and not all those people who started at 20 graduated on time either.

Yeah, sometimes it is too late to start college, but 19 isn't even close to being too late.

I wouldn't worry, unless you pass 25 and are still thinking about going to college.

You talk about it like you are 40. It's too late for me. I've lost all intrest in education, I never had much intrest in education to begin with. The only time I studied for a test was when I needed an A to bump my grade. Never was acompetitive person.

I had someone in my calculus class and she was around 60+..it's not too late..it's never too late :P..

Xx_Hopeless_xX

Well, it's not technically too late, but sometimes it sort of is too late.

I mean, the 60 year old lady? Unless she's going to college full time (which she likely isn't), it's gonna take her longer than 4 years to get her 4 year degree. At best, count on her being 66 by the time she graduates, plus at least another year looking for a job (probably longer, because she's old and all she's got is a bachelor's degree). And that's JUST with a bachelor's degree, which is becoming increasingly worthless these days. She's already almost 70 years old, has spent a ****load of time and money on something that's probably never going to help her in any substantial way. Yeah...that's not "too late", but it still sort of is too late. At that age, what's the point?

True, but for them it's more of an adventurethan a purpose.
