topic.

Wasn't a major advocate of the group, but supported the idea behind it.

9 out of 10 of the drawings were disgusting and horribly offensive. They successfully proved that the whole group was just out to offend people and cause trouble.

people are bored, the guy who created the group is probably regretting it or he received a threat. kind of stupid of him to do such a thing and not expect it to backfire.

Seems to indicate pakistan is more of a dictatoship than anything. Hell even Israel doesn't block sites that have a sqastika on them. (you know somthing actually offensive)

Pakistan is a country where majority of population are Muslim , so yea i think they can ban whatever/anything that they find offensive, besides, its a temporary ban.

Good, I find the whole idea of "Draw Mohammed Day" offensive. Way to totally blow off someone else's culture in the name of 'freedom of speech'. Sure drawing Mohammed seems trivial to us, but why can't we respect what this means to the roughly 1 billion members of the Muslim faith?

Well forgive me if I draw Mary aborting baby Jesus. I don't have to respect the Muslim faith. They're the ones that are so sensitive about this issue. Instead of expecting us to change, maybe it wouldn't do so much if they did the same instead, because honestly, they're the ones out of touch.

there was a huge strike about it in one of the countries for facebook to close the page, so it probably became more then just a joke and had to be taken down, because the country was going to ban all connection to facebook in the country

Im sorry but even i cant blame muslims for retaliating lately. Sure im not a supporter of 9/11 or terrorism attack but at the rate USA are going, it would go as far as saying they are getting what they deserve. Sure people will say XYZ of killing 3000 people is wrong, but USA have pretty much done worse in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran, but people are just accepting everything thrown at the TV set and what ever politicians and presidents tell them. Dissing the dead is wong, killing is wrong, both of which USA have done, and only proves how childish they really are to doing something so trivial and stupid to piss people off. Ofcourse it falls under Freedom of speech, but people have lost all form of knowledge about limits and respect, well, USA have anyway.

No it's not closed. I'm a member and looking at it right now, it just doesn't show up on a group search. You can still find it on google. There are almost 100,000 members, and it's growing by the second.

EDIT: I guess this was already established.

and yet if we had "draw jesus day" and people did equally-sick illustrations, the page would remain

Better yet, our own fed govt, via the national endowment for the arts, gave a grant to some "artist" for his piece titled "Piss Christ". A crucifix in a glass of urine.

Hey muslims, some of us don't like your religion. We especially find some of its practioners (taliban, whabbists, etc) disgusting. Consequently we're not going to go out of our way to show it any deferrence.

swastika isn't offensive as offensive in other places as Western, but the facebook thing is considered more offensive in Pakistan than in Western.

I joined the group back when but eventually realized it was nothing but a hate group and decided I wouldn't be participating in it. I believe in letting people believe as they wish, so that they will let me believe as I wish and so if they wanted to believe in this hatred go for it, I just wasn't going to participate. Also I believe everyone is aloud to believe what they want including the people who don't want images of their "prophet" put up, I have chosen to observe respect all peoples beliefs no matter how much I disagree with them and as long as they don't take those beliefs to violence.

Also there will proble be a new fb page up really soon about how horrible it was to censor the shut down page, and then continue there with their hatred and insensitivities.
