The movie comes out today. Is anyone going to see it? I plan on catching a viewing this afternoon. Share you thoughts on the preview or movie itself. Use spoiler tags when appropriate.
Seeing it tonight. The good and bad reviews seem to like/hate it for the same reason: it does gore really well. So.. if that's your thing, you probably won't be disappointed.
eh, i might rent it sometime. i've been hearing it doesn't have a sense of humor and i couldn't imagine the story being any good without one. LoG-Sacrament
The first Evil Dead film wasn't really played for laughs, it was supposed to be a straight-up horror movie. The humor didn't really come alive until Evil dead 2.
Just got back from the film. Overall it was enjoyable. I few things that didn't do it for me (the 10 minute Slayer reference being the main one). But there was some pretty brutal shots that were awesome. Among its genre this film is just above average.
I wish Bruce Cambell was in it and it was a remake.

I was going to see it, but I ended up having to buy diapers and wipes instead lol. I'll just buy it when it comes out on BluRay. No big deal though. Spartan_N7

I thought it was fantastic and the post credits scene is amazing.
Saw it yesterday. I did not like it very much at all. Its just not scary or fun. It was a little boring actually, and lifeless. Part of the problem was the music or soundtrack was not very good. Also the characters are lame and the story really went south and off the rails nears the end. The photography and gore effects were good and there were some entertaining references to the original Evil Dead. But the whole thing was so bland with no real scares or tension.
