Certain groups of people have been struggling to prove their worth that is equal to the group of people who introduced them to the society in which they strive to emulate. How could it ever be that the group of people who were once primitive, are above those who brought them into civilizations and enlightenment?

Well actually mutations inside the species drive evolution forward. So they don't actually have to be a different species. Species is just a rough classification that is put in place when the mutations are considered differentiating enough.
But OP, evolution doesn't work like that, evolution takes a long long long time to do anything, the few thousands of years that the various "races" of humanity have been separated is not really worth much apart from the obvious adaptations that are mostly the product of various intensity of suns rays. There is no superior race, as you can pretty plainly see.
