[QUOTE="Tropicalshower"]Not really.SetsaHow can you deny such undeniable proof!? Mon Dieu! We're all screwed! *puts on tin foil hat and hides in a cave* Sort of like the crazy zelda guy :P
nothing is going to happen out of the ordinary. people have been predicting the end of times as long as they've been alive.. they haven't been right yet.. I don't see what makes them right this time.
*sets up shop*
Geeett your foil hats here, foil hats starting at $9.95, come on folks you can't get a better deal than this. Geeeet your foil hats here...
Certainly quite a bit more credibility behind THIS doomsday scenario than there was for Y2K. Hopi Indians, Mayans, Egyptions, and Nostradamous all predicted something is going to happen that year. Plus the fact that we will be in the biggest Solar flarecycle in recorded history at the time.... I'm not usually one to believe prophecies like that but we'll see. The most I can see actually happen (which would still be very devastating for civilization) is a powerful solar flare knocking out the world's power grid and destroying technology. As our technology gets more and more powerful it unfortunately becomes more and more sensitive to disruption. All it would take is for a massive solar flare (which is expected in winter 2012) to knock out or weakening electromagnectic field and fry our entire power grid. I'm taking the road of caution in that way and at least being prepared for the possibility of having to live without technology for a few years.
Then again, I could be completely wrong and wasted 100 bucks on canned foods :P.
Well, the Temple of Jerusalem still isn't rebuilt yet, and there are no sign of an Anti-Christ yet. So, no, the world isn't going to end yet.hiphops_savior
Maybe we'll get lucky and 2012 will just mark the start of what is said to happen in Revelations.
yeah right, because being in the same line as the sun and the center of the galaxy will make stuff blow up. why would this only happen to earth? i'm pretty sure it already happened before with other planets, and probably with earth too.BrunoBRS
The alignment has nothing to do with it I don't think. Scientists are unanimous in saying while that is a very rare celestial event (about once every 26,000 years or so) it is impossible for that to have any physical effect on the planet. As I said we should probably be a little more concerned for the weakening electromagnetic field of Earth and the growing intensity and power of solar flares.
You mean Fallout 3 will happen for real? AWESOME! My first real-life RPG!! WestSideAzn
Ha we'll all get parts as the mutants roaming the wasteland. Either mutants or corpses.
[QUOTE="comp_atkins"]can't wait.. then i can stop hearing about it..shinian
Don't get your hopes high. AFAIR another end of the world is schedulded for 2025.
What's the exact date, and why do they think that. I don't think It'll end, just curious.I say we build giant rocket engines and attach them to one side of the Earth, and have them pointed towards space. When that's all done, we activate the engines and the rockets will slowly push Earth out of our solar system, and thus 2012 will be avoided. Problem solved.Nerd_ManThat would actually make our death way more slow and agonizing, there would be less and less until there was no warmth on earth at all.
I was just thinking about that, as I was reading the post above you.how is that going to work when its going to be December 21st at different times around the world?

OH MY GAWD WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE EXCEPT THAT ONE GUY IN THAT PISHURE YOU HAS ZOMGOMGOMOMGOGMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMOMGOMGOMG. What great proof, because of a galactic alignment, which scientists say that won't even happen(face palm) the world will end. It's funny because only the kids believe in this while the adult world makes tons of money off of terrible movies milking stuff like this. If only you knew how many doomsday prophecies there have been..do you know how many have came true? I doubt it..AlphaRailTrue, but this is the one with the most proof. Which is making me say "maybe."
