Ex-gang member, thief, and still a drunk? And you wonder why Obama didn't want to help him out? JML897he's part of his family and he has a good heart. stop trying to justify this, the fact is he didn't help, admit to it and leave it at that.
Incredible though it seems, George Obama is, within the context of his own society, a conservative. He doesnt worship at the shrine of Barack Obama Sr. and he espouses an ideology diametrically opposed to that of his father and his famous brother. George has experienced first-hand the empty rhetoric of the two Baracks, and he rejects it based on his actual experience of Third World poverty.
No wonder President Obama despises George, doesnt want him around, doesnt care to hear Georges views circulated in America, and wont lift a finger to help him even when Georges son is in the hospital.
So thats why George Obama felt he had to call me. He had no one else to call. He reached out to me in his time of need because he felt he couldnt call on his real life sibling living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Thats how I got to be, if only metaphorically and for a short time, George Obamas brother.
lol
trying to use a family member against the president?
Obama never even met him before his presidency and people expect him to act like he's family.
He's not, and try to exploit him is really really shady.

We should defenintly not reelect President Obama because of this.

Being an alcoholic gang member is pretty much justified in a place as bad as Kenya... in America? Hell to the no.Dinesh is never nice. He's a c*nt of the highest order. Don't let appearances fool you. ALSO IM GLAD YOU POSTED BECAUSE I DID WONDER WHAT JOERATZ WOULD THINK ABOUT THISthat was nice of Dinesh. I wonder what made George think of calling Dinesh to ask for money?

to be fair Obama did donate a lot of money to charity (I think about 20% of his income), mostly to groups that help wounded soldiers (which I imagine is somewhat his duty considering that he is the commander in chief, and thus he should be solicitous for the good of his soldiers), although I think he also donated to the United Negro Fund (college scholarships for black kids).

Implying that alcoholic gang members don't get routine government handouts...:P But yeah, it's political posturing. Not that it didn't work out in George's favor though.[QUOTE="JML897"][QUOTE="jimkabrhel"]

Implying that alcoholic gang members don't get routine government handouts...:PTrue. I just thought it was an odd position for kingkong to take considering I thought he was a conservative.
Obama owes this guy nothing. He is his half-brother, who he has never met before, who lives his own life on a completely different continent. The man's life, as 'terrible' as anyone wants to make it out to be, is the result of this man's own personal choices; including his own choice to live in poverty. Why in the world anyone would expect Obama to go out of his way with all the stuff he has to worry about here in this country, to help this man on a different continent who he has never met, just because he is a blood relative is beyond me. The whole focus on this story is one of the lower points from either side of the aisle this campaign. SaintLeonidas
Now you know when conservatives feel when people start taking their money away and giving it to POOR PEOPLE IN FIRST WORLD COUNTRIES. And you're completely ignoring that George Obama lives in a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY not a FIRST WORLD COUNTRY LIKE THE UNITED STATES. THERE'S A HUGE DIFFERENCE YOU KNOW. Not to mention that George Obama is related to Barack...

I'm a troll. You got me bro. You want a medal? Dude seriously, just because someone disagrees with your viewpoint doesn't automatically make them a troll. And i've been trolled and insulted more times here than I've "insulted" or "trolled" myself. It's quite obvious you have a problem with me, I exposed your social awkwardness to all of OT and now you won't hop off.

The man lived a middle class lifestyle, as stated in the thread that was already created about him, and he CHOSE to live in poverty. His life is the direct result of him wanting to live in the lower class. Doesn't matter where he was born, his life was indeed much better off before he made choices to live with less money, in a poorer area of his country. Obama is in no way responsible for what his half brother, living a life of his own in a different continent, decides to do. And again, relation means nothing. As someone stated here, Romney has family in Mexico. If one of them gets sick, needs money, are you expecting him to go to Mexico and help them out? No. Blood relations don't mean someone is automatically responsible for the financial and health of their relatives, especially if they have never met and are thousands of miles apart. The focus on this man is just an incredibly low and piss poor attempt to tarnish Obama's image, and as I said one of the lower points of this campaign from either side of the aisle.[QUOTE="SteverXIII"]kingkong0124

When you're in a first world country there's honestly no excuses for failure...life in Kenya is different, and it's offensive to all the poor Africans in the world that you're trying to compare the two. And I'd hope Romney would help his relatives in Mexico..that's what family and people do - help people. not the government. And it's quite odd that Obama donates to several charities (which is good) but ignores his own brother...something seems odd, considereing Obama is pretty philanthropic.

A couple of years ago one of Romney's cousins was kidnapped. Willard didn't do a thing about it. The ranch where his relatives live is in a particularly dangerous area in Mexico, why doesn't Romney use his considerable resources to relocate them somewhere safer? Is it because Romney despises them for their diametric views on illegal immigration in the US?[QUOTE="JML897"]Ex-gang member, thief, and still a drunk? Willard did do something about it, he paid ransom..
Do you understand how hard it is to simply relocate someone especially in Mexico, where drug cartels run the federal and local government? And I don't see why you would think that Romney despises them simply for their views.
