I'm not the biggest DB fan but I would love to see a full DB live action film like that.

That trailer was a joke.

If you mean it's a joke as in not for a real film then yes I know, that's why I stated it as being a Fan Made Trailer in the title.
It still pisses all over DB Evolution though.
I think that we have to accept the fact that there are things animation can get away with that live action cannot.
I'd say the Matrix changed that viewpoint for me if it wasn't for the fact many of the better fight scenes were heavily enhanced by CG or just plain CG period. I think there is, however, the inability for people to make energy beams the size of Kansas coming from a humonoid's hands look anything but corny in live action.I think that we have to accept the fact that there are things animation can get away with that live action cannot.

Definitely a well done effort with what limited resources I am sure they had available to them.
This does illustrate the fundamental flaws of why a live-action DBZ movie can't work though.
You can never get actors to look even close to alot of the characters on the show, and the special effects are liable to look incredibly corny when they get to throwing out their energy attacks.
I do think this team was onto something though with how they shot it. though.

It is better than Evolution, but as many people have said, there are some series that can't work as Live Action films or TV Shows. Take The Last Airbender for example, no one can really take that seriously. Miroku32
The Last Airbender can work, the project was just given to a hack,
 this! Everytime I saw Piccolo I died. But still, for a fan made trailer, it's definitely impressive and nostalgia surely helps. I actually got goosebumps at the powering-up scenes lol. I'd probably watch in the theater for half price.I think that we have to accept the fact that there are things animation can get away with that live action cannot.

[QUOTE="bobaban"]I thought it was a good fan vid. But DBZ will never be good live.dercoo
It can be, it just needs a good writer, director, and a budget comparable to Avatar
I don't know how live action actors can act the way characters in DBZ act without looking laughably ridiculous.

By adapting the characters & story, and not simply going for a copy and paste.
Anything can be made into a good movie, just sometimes you have to rip out its guts.
For instance, they could take a comedic route akin to Scott Pilgrim
or in contrast a grimdark route where the fights are takien seriously(no mid battle chats or 5 min power ups)
