Hey guys!

I'm part of a fantasy football league with my church and there about 10-12 guys or so in the league. Our league played last year and we enjoyed playing and so we were going to do again this year. Our drafting day is coming up soon (not sure when) but if any of ya'll have some knowledge or experience doing something like this and could offer some insight on what choices I should pick, that would be great! I know most of my top choices but with about 10-12 people many of the good players will quickly be taken within the first round so any advice on what who to choose afterwards would really help.

Also... last year I didn't do so hot during our previous season. I actually ended up last due to several very unlucky circumstances such as I picked Tom Brady as my starting QB and he got injuried for the season and stuff like that. But I was thinking of picking a good QB first like Drew Brees or maybe Phillip Rivers and hopefully try to put up a good RB or WR before they all disappear. What I have questions about are the defenses and kickers. I don't know much about those and if anyone could advise me on a choice there that would be greatly appreciated!

thanks! :)

Well, I play every year in a prize league through CBS Sportsline.

Here's a mock draft for 12-person leagues:

I think you can find other mock drafts for 10-person leagues here:

I don't know if this is for "Flex leagues" which basically have an extra RB/WR, etc. position in addition to the normal RB, RB, WR, WR....But yeah, running backs are probably going to be the top picks.

Basically I use these mock drafts and Yahoo! Sports big board while i draft, but I don't know if you'll have that liberty...you probably will so just use those maybe get a magazine for reading on the toilet. Then just do your best to find people that'll help you win.

One thing I do try to do now is avoid players who are injury prone...u dont want that headache.

Let me know if you have any other specific questions!

Get a RB first, then if you want a QB there should be a pretty good one still available. Then either a WR or another RB. Don't draft a kicker or Defense until the last 2 or 3 rounds. There is not a big enough difference at those positions to warrant reaching for anyone but the most elite defense and you would be better served going for some sleeper picks and backups at other positions.

ok yeah that's a good idea i might try out those mock trials. i've never done that b4. before none of us really knew what we doing so we kinda picked randomly. and i ended up with players who were injury-prone and inconsistent

yeah i was thinking about maybe drafting a good RB before i choose my QB but i'm unsure of which RB to choose. i feel like some RBs can be a miss or hit. if you have any ideas that would be great! also idk enough about defenses to make a good decision on which team has a good defense compared to others. any advice there?

As far as RBs, it depends on where you are drafting. If you are the first pick, take Adrian Peterson. I'm not a fan of his, but he is the only one with enough upside to warrant the top spot. The rest of the round is whicheverRB you feel will get you the most yards and most TDs.

Baltimore is usually a great defense, but they lost their D-Coordinator and a good LB in Scott, so I wouldn't try to reach for them. Tennessee was great last year but lost Haynesworth, so I would be reluctant to go there either. If you have to take a defense early, the Steelers are probably the best option. If it helps, do a little research for team defenses and how many points per game they gave up. Print it out and bring it with you.

ok thanks man! I was thinking about Adrian Peterson, if possible, and then maybe Michael Turner or Tomlinson if Peterson doesn't work out. Good advice about the Defenses, i was thinking about the steelers or the giants since they are both projected to do well next year. Do you have any ideas about WRs? i figured most of the good ones will have been taken by this point after i've picked my 1st round QB and RB. Could you think of any 3rd round possbilities that would be a good grab?
