thank god. i was going to say communism and fascism are the same thing in the long run. both wrong12345_
Though they're both equally insidious forms of statism, I wouldn't say they're the same thing. Communism is an entirely naive idea. The notion that the state can be made to run everything, then just dissapear is absurd. Fascism an altogether more deliberate form of statism. The state is seens as almost godlike.
Me? No, absolutely not. I'm entirely anti-communist. I'm an anarcho-capitalist.Rhazakna
In my opinion capitalism cannot exist without a state or government. Government defines the rules of the market, enforces it and protects the system. I tend to be more on the side of communism than on the side of capitalism or fascism. Therefore i can say that i'm a socialist.

Hardly. A market system is what occurs when there is no state. People mold land into property, resources into tools and trade accordingly. Despite popular belief, when government has been mostly hands off, free trade has flourished.

But it will not be a stable market system. Capitalism needs government to protect private property and to give security. Government gives security to supermarkets. Security people make sure everyone pays and does not leave without payment. Even corporations and universities have government. I guess these things could not exist (or at least would not be very stable) without government.

"No matter how an anarchist rationalizes his idea of what anarchism might be like, what anarchism would be like is one set of thugs (what they would call "protection agencies") versus another set of thugs. Who would determine what is right and wrong? Whoever had the biggest guns. Anarcho-capitalism, boiled down, would operate much in the same way that the black market operates today, where men do hire their own "protection agencies" (their own thugs) and do indeed take justice into their own hands."

if there was an anarcho-capitalist system in place then the grocery store could protect its self.
I for one think capitalism regulates its self by following the dollar. Even if there should be some massive company dominating a field they are easily beaten because theres nothing stopping you from setting up shop and competing. In our system today (WHICH CANT BE SAID TO BE CAPITALISM) you cant do that. It undermines the very point of capitalism, and that is why we have a lot of the economic woes we have today.

In theory ;)
Fascism is the exact opposite of what I believe in. Originally, i was the idea that the government controled everything, and went hand in hand with corporations. Corporatism is one of the most detrimental economic and political disasters there is. Sadly, the US has been implementing some psuedo-corporatist policies lately.Rhazakna
You use big words, so therefore I agree with your post.
Hitler convinced an entire country to betray their human nature in favor of slaughtering a race he deemed unworthy, had his name taught like a god in school, and damn-near conquered all of Europe. He may have failed in his grand scheme, but he was far and away the most successful fascist who ever lived.Theokhoth
And might have even succeeded if he had not invaded Russia. Who knows?

What do you mean by "betray their human nature"?
[QUOTE="12345_"]hitler betrayed no one but his fellow people Engrish_Major
...and the Russians.
...and the Danes.
what ever do you mean:D12345_
Germany and Russia had a no-agression pact. Hitler went against that by invading Russia later in the war.

Yeah, I'm not sure that's the best way to put what Hitler did. He didn't make them "betray" anything. He simply indoctrinated them into believing (as you said) that everything he said was "god-like," like that Arians are the superior human race.
Humans are generally violent in nature. He only helped fuel the core human aggression.
