Fox cuts time out of Obama's speech on the healthcare reconciliation bill to an airplane "That may have flap issues".
Yeah. Really not that big of a deal.
And really, "Faux News" isn't that great of a pun. The pronunciations are nothing alike. "Fixed News" or "Fox Noise" or "Fixed Noise" are all much better puns, even if loudmouth Olbermann was the one who coined them. >_>

[QUOTE="PannicAtack"]Faux News is a perfect pun. Except that Faux is pronounced like foe, so it makes no sense.Yeah. Really not that big of a deal.

This president is obsessed with hearing himself talk. He's an egomaniac. He gives speeches constantly, and he expects networks to just give up their airtime whenever he demands it. I'm actually very glad Fox News did this. Seriously, none of Obama's speeches of press conferences really hold any weight anymore, because he has so goddamned many of them. His administration is a disgrace.

I think the speech affects more people than if that air plane even blew up.
A speech we've heard more than once already. A plane only blows up once. This president is obsessed with hearing himself talk. He's an egomaniac. A President giving speeches to the nation? What a concept!

Imagine this:
Speech #150 regarding Health Care Reform; President makes way to podium among many loyal supporters with resounding cheers. Continues to deliver the same speech with the same outcome that we have heard 149 times before.
Now imagine this:
Large aircraft with flap problems performs a Zero flap emergency landing, brakes catch on fire due to excess friction caused by heavy aircraft and high speed touchdown. Aircraft continues to roll off of the runway resulting in large fire and passenger evacuations.
Which to you is more exciting to watch? Fox has never given President Obama respect before so why should they start now; besides that is a better reason to pan away than reasons that I've seen them do in the past.
Eh, I don't think this is that big a deal. The big bill signing was last week. The reconciliation bill just needed to be passed and signed for silly procedural reasons.-Sun_Tzu-This. A plane with passengers that's in danger is more important than one of Obama's ego speeches he has daily.

It's still people in danger, any and all news organizations have an obligation to cover stuff like that. Lives are more important than words. That shows an extreme lack of respect for a our President giving the 5,403,432nd healthcare speech in the last two months. They should be ashamed.FragStainsYeah, I agree. Plus, People need to know what else is going, no matter how much Obama believes this, the world does not revolve around him.

Personally, I think 24 is more exciting to watch than either of them, but I don't complain when other shows are interrupted.
Besides, it's much more likely that the health care speech is more pertinent to the viewers watching TV than a flaming plane.
As a pilot I can officially tell you that flap issues on an airbus are more important than anything Obama has to say about health care.PenguinchowAs a video-game player I can officially tell you that they can just do a barrel roll.

Haha in flight simulator X I have pulled many a barrel roll in an airbus. Doesn't work so well in real life, however. Something about over-stressing the airframe.

But also, all those new sites are terrible, CNN, MSNBC, ect... all propaganda to purposely scare you and keep you watching and tuned in.

Thank god they did. Flap issues is serious business.

Take out the "L" and that would have been a funny post.

That's funny, there was a thread concerning Fox News' bias and here is a perfect nonpolitical news story. Now all you liberals are bent out of shape (kind of like that aircraftcould have been) that Fox decides to cover a live news event instead of a frequently given speech. Will your bias and blame ever end?

Personally, I'm more annoyed by the incredibly immature way in which every single prominent thing tied to politics has to have a derisive pun on it invented for opponents to chant (NObama, Shrillary, McSame, Shrub, etc. ...). Oppose someone or something if you wish, but in my view one ought to at least spare sufficient respect to actually use someone's real name.

This wasn't a speech though, this was the bill signing. The president signing into law the new health care bill is pretty big news dontcha think?
Think about it: Fox News hates this thing. They're the only station that cut away to the airplane. This airplane wasn't even touched by any other news organization whatsoever. The plane landed perfectly fine. It's obvious they didn't want to air the event because it would ruin their manufactured story and message that they sell to their viewers, so they cut away to the first thing they could find that even half-resembled real news.
No. It is a terrible pun. Because "faux" is pronounced "foe."[QUOTE="PannicAtack"]

As I said before, I've seen them pan away from him during one of his speechs to discuss with a panel of "experts" what he is talking about while he is still talking about it.
As far as "Big News"? Personally I think it's bad news and that there are other means for substantial health care reform without adding nearly One Trillion to our national debt.
