Arguably, I'd have to say the 70's were one of the best decades for all music genres, but especially for Rock and Soul genres.

It's my favorite decade for music.:)

Well, I think listing more albums and artists just means your taste has been dulled to the extent that anything is acceptible. :P Unless of course they're all quality, which I'm sure there were at least fifty quality releases in the '70s. I just see these massive lists of bands and artists and I think to myself "wow, do they really like that many artists? If they do then they need to define their tastes a bit more, and if they don't they should stop trying to appear so open-minded when in reality they only enjoy a handful of them." I dunno it's easy to enjoy music, but it's hard to get really into each artist's styIe I guess. That's just me.

"Unknown Plleasures" Joy Division
"London Calling" The Clash
"The Clash" The Clash
"Never Mind The Bullocks, Here's The Sex Pistols" Sex Pistols

I can't really think right now. A lot of bands I like for the 70's & 80's are right on the cusp, and I can't remember the years.

I asked for a 1st edition print on vinyl for my 18th birthday. Excellent album. Very experimental. EDIT: It was critically acclaimed, but a lot of people that like The Clash let this album slip their mind. I have yet to listen to "Cut The Crap"

Sure, there's some good bands putting out new music this decade. I actually like a lot of the same music you do...prog being my favorite kind of rock music. Some of the bands during this decade have actually picked up the torch from some of the 70s prog bands, and did they've done their own thing with it, which is a great thing in my opinion.

Yeah prog is doing well this decade with bands like Frost, Anekdoten, and Pure reason revolution. Prog revival started in the 90s though, 80s prog was kinda crap aside from Marillion, and IQ. I like how prog these days takes influence from the 70s most of the time rather than the 80s, though Pure reason revolution's last album was weird and electronic based. Still great though.
