Way, way, way too many for me to bother listing. I will say that Does It Offend You, Yeah? had an incredible debut album though.

I'm not sure if Madvillain counts but they are making a second album so I consider them kind of a duo...

I'll think of some more...

I never got lady gaga's appeal. She is a better songwriter than a lot of the mainstream female singers but her music doesnt really stray far from the usual electro pop I hear a lot. Her voice isnt even that good.

I'm not really 'in the now' with music, I spend most of my time discovering old stuff. The Darkness comes to mind, I'm sure there's a lot of better stuff though.

I'm not trying to critisize your tastes, I think she has talent too. I especially liked her acoustic version of Poker face. I do think her outfits are a bit gimmicky though. There are much better female singer songwriters out like Beth Orton, Heather Nova, Fiona Apple, Hannah fury, regina spektor, Mirah, and Emmy the great. I do think Lady gaga is better than most of the mainstream female singers though her synth beats are a bit generic.

Well the only debut album of this decade that I have heard in its entirety is Matt & Kim's self-titled album, released in 2006.

fvf

I love most songs in it like:

No More Long Years

Dash After Dash

5K

Yea Yeah

and Lightspeed

easily machinations of dementia by blotted science. there are lots of advanced things going on to really dig into like the compostional rules jarzombek set up for himself, the musical narratives presented, and the over arching themes throughout the album. there are also various odes and jokes on metal conventions for the fans. however, its also accessible to its audience (those with metal background) with a strong sense of rhythm to hang on to.

Arcade Fire: Funeral

The Libertines: Up The Bracket

LCD Soundsystem: LCD Soundsystem

Vampire Weekend: Vampire Weekend
