First before we start some of the posters have some not to happy imagery, but nothing too bad.

Slasher Film examples:

Pyschological Horror:

Zombie Apocalypse:

Torture Porn (has nothing do with porn and these are more violent posters then the other so this is a warning):

If there are any genres in horror that are big enough for me to add, just say.. Also polls aren't working for me so a poll isn't an option.

My favorite one is torture porn, maybe because I'm attracted to torture? Who knows, I just enjoy it the most.

Psychological horror is the best. I dont remember the movie but it was a low budget movie about some guy in a house with his contractors. It was good but I dont remember a lot about it.

I don't like the term torture porn. I prefer exploitation film. Anyway, I like all of them, but if I had to choose I'd pick pyschological horror.

Stop!

asdf

Hammer Time! :D

But seriously I love all sorts of horror films without a big preference. I love slasher films as much as I love film about spooky old houses or old semi-offensive films about witch covens.

I don't watch a whole lot of horror films, and from the (very) few I've watched, Alien is my favourite, so a mix of slasher, pyschological... monster horror. Whichever category it fits into. (Alas, I've no idea when it comes to Horror Films.)

Psychological by far. The best and most effective horror is the kind that doesnt show everything and messes with your mind.

I prefer psychological horror (mostly Asian films like Shutter, The Eye and A Tale Of Two Sisters), though there have been a few Slasher flicks I've liked as well. My favourite horror movie of all time is Alien, but that doesn't really fit into any specific sub-genre.

Slashers all the way. I love watching people get chased and trying to defend themselves. I don't really like supernatural slashers though where the bad guy takes forever to kill, I prefer it when the baddies are actual people or characters. So yeah, whenever I'm sad I'll pop in a slasher flick. Sick, but true.

And I'm also a huge zombie fan.

I could do without the other highly overrated genres. I just don't get anything out of them. One has lots of jump scares and the other has grotesque scenes meant to make me squirm. Nah thanks.

I'm a big fan of the psychological/gorn genre. Such as movies like Audition, Martyrs and Imprint. I'm not big on the "gore for gore's sake" (such as Ichi the Killer) but can enjoy it.

If you think psychological horror movies are just about jump scares then you obviously haven't seen very many (good) ones. They're called "psychological" horror movies for a reason.

I like psychological horror the most, though I love all horror and will watch anything that claims to be a horror movie at least once.

I honestly think that horror-comedies could be my favorite.

I just saw Evil Dead 2 for the first time last night and it's one of my fav movies now! I actually just got done watching it AGAIN today and it was just as fun if not funnier watching it the second time!
