Are we including or not including manga? If not, then Sin City, Preacher, Sandman, and V for Vendetta.

If so, then Rurouni Kenshin, Blade of the Immortal, and Hayate no Gotoku!

Sin City series, Dark Knight, Sandman, and really anything illustrated by Dave McKean (particularly the Meltdown series).

The first few years of the New Mutants, and parent book The X-Men from the same period, Planetary, the initial run on The Authority, Quasar (one of the few books from the 90's that I can still enjoy), the Annihilation books of the past few years and various periodic runs on Thor, mainly Walt Siimonson's and Mark Gruenwald's time on the book.

I don't read a lot, scratch that. I've read like a couple and I liked Kingdom Come and Dark Knight Returns. All Star Batman and Robin was pretty kickass too. Fullmetal Alchemist too, if manga can be placed in the same category as comic books.

It's been a LONG time since I read anything recent, but as far as graphic novels go, the ones I own are the complete run of Transmetropolitan, Sam & Max: Surfing the Highway, and Garth Ennis' entire run of The Punisher, both the Marvel Knights and MAX series.

I thought Blackest Night started out incredibly strong, but by midway through felt like it fizzled pretty severely

I love Sam Kieth's art s-tyle. He had a really cool run on Spider-Man, too. But the Maxx is just an incredible little series.

And for those of you not familiar with Kieth, he illustrated the first five issues of Sandman, which alot of you seem to like.

I agree in a way, it started out amazing, the middle portions got a little bit slow and the final battle was a bit anti-climactic, but some of the changes it made going into Brightest Day made me happy. Also Scarecrow's scenes in it were just awesome, he's probably my favorite batman villain. However going through Brightest Day now, i think i might like it a bit more that Blackest Night once it finishes.
