[QUOTE="randomhero5677"]Feur Frei is awesome, it gives you a WWII feeling :o Fellow Rammstein fan? I believe the opening of xXx contains a concert of Rammstein playing this song...
Feur Frei! by Rammstein

I love the riff in Laid to Rest by Lamb of God.The_Sand_ManThat is a decent riff. I also like the riff from their song Omerta.
I love the guitar riff in Life's Been Good. I know it's probably not the most "complex" riff out there, but I love it :D.
No More Tears(Ozzy). Zakk Wylde is great at making riffs.
Double Talkin Jive(Explicit "words" if you care) by Guns N Roses has a great riff to.
Crazy Train - Ozzy
Whispers in the Dark -Skillet (I don't care if I'm Atheist or not, Skillet is awesome)
Birthright - Celldweller (not a cool guitar riff, but the bass is awesome)
Do You Call My Name - Ra (give it a little bit, the guitar riff comes in eventually :P)
Don't Fear the Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
Given Up - Linkin Park (cool guitar riff and bass part)
Those are my favorites.
[QUOTE="chessmaster1989"]I keep seeing people post Purple Haze... I never was a fan of Purple Haze :|.It was only posted once :|I love the guitar riff in Life's Been Good. I know it's probably not the most "complex" riff out there, but I love it :D.

Apologies-I meant more in general, not only on this topic. Sorry, I should have made my comment clearer.
Good song with a good riff by a great band. I think the riff in the song Flaming Telepaths is even betterthough.Don't Fear the Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult

I like the intro to Welcome Home. The opening riff of No World For Tomorrow by Coheed & Cambria (yes I know, many people despise them...) is really cool. Plus it's a lot more difficult then it sounds with all the palm muting.

No Time by Guess Who.
Dropping Like Flies by Armored Saint.
Last Summer's Evil by TNT.
Back from the Dead by Dream Evil.
EDIT: Just remembered-Judas Rising by Judas Priest.
The first song that came to mind was Sweet Jane by The Velvet Underground.
Zeppelin's Trampled Under foot also has an amazing riff.
the riff just before the solo in Rebellion in Dreamland by Gamma Ray, is the greatest.
or Stabwound by Necrophagist, ill give anyone $1 if they can play it!
Yes, yes, yes yes and yes. All of those songs are classics, especially White Rabbit."Obvious classics"?

For me a very classic 90's riff would be
Smashing Pumpkins-Quiet
or Smashing Pumpkins- Slunk
The Opening Riff to Dark Chest of Wonders by Nightwish and *Runs into flameproof bunker +5677 feet under ground and puts on flamesuit while holding a +50 flameshield* The riff from Cloud Nine by Evanescencerandomhero5677Probably should have run into a DOUBLE flameproof bunker, +5678 feet under ground and put on SUPER flamesuit while holding a +51 flameshield. FLAME! FLAME! FLAME! FLAME! FLAME!
