So topic says its all who is your favorite guitarist of all time and what song contains your favorite solo? This is a hard one for me. I think Eric Clapton is one of the greatest guitarists of all time and love all his music. I went to his concert earlier this year and it was amazing. When he played LAYLA it was as though the guitar was speaking it was amazing. Other then Clapton I would probably go with Sweet Child O' Mine with the Slash Solo, or If I dont Have you i think its called again GNR - you dont even need Axl to sing because you can allready feel the music. other then that of course of love JIMI, Stevie, and all the others but i want some of your opinions on this question.

I don't have a favorite persay, but I do enjoy Stevie Ray Vaughn, Metallica has always had great solos, and laugh all you want, but John Mayer actually impressed me when I saw him live. Here's a really cool compilation tribute to Geaorge Harrison, with a really nice solo by Prince, another great guitar player.

I came in expecting to see a lot of Eddie Van Halen/Eruption responses. I leave happy.

I have far too many favourite guitarists and solos to name just one.

Agreed, that solo is beautiful and full of raw emotion.

A couple other solos like that are Frusciante's solos from "I could have lied" and Slash's from "November rain"

It's the top song...he's been compared to Petrucci and Malmsteen in terms of Speed and Precision, but unlike them, I think he actually writes good music.
