I think alot of the cases are dull (there's no end to the "was it a gift or was it a loan?" cases), but when the cases are good, they're really good. Also, I actually like Judge Judy the person (alot of people seem to hate her) because I love seeing irresponsible/dishonest people get owned on TV and because she's pretty sharp and witty. Yes, she's pretty cocky and she can be mean at times (most of the time the person deserves it tho), but that's part of what makes her character so entertaining. The show would suck without her.

Anyway...

I think this is my favorite case. Basically, a cop sues this dumb spoiled girl for maliciously writing a false letter of complaint against him. The girl gets stopped for speeding, but instead of simply accepting the ticket, she tries to influence the officer by asking him if he knows who her father is (her father was an ex-polic officer) and when the cop leaves, she calls her father up and tries to get the sheriff to talk to him, but he refuses. The girl is mad, so she gets her parents to help her write a letter of complaint. So the cop sues her because the letter stays in his file and has the potential to negatively impact his career. In "court", the girl tries to act like the sheriff was rude to her, but the sheriff plays a tape, proving that he was extremely polite and that the girl was trying to use her father to get out of the ticket and the girl just ends up looking like a huge vindictive baby. Of course she gets chewed out by JJ and it's hilarious, especially since she starts crying. It's so satisfying!

What's your favorite?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQz_YeXziXU My favorite is the sack tap episode. Stupid little kids and their dumb games. Any of the episodes where a parent tries to stick up for something stupid that their kid did always crack me up too.

This one is good (yet sad). Judy finds the defendant guilty because she "doesn't like what he did". While what he did was morally wrong, it technically isn't illegal.

LOL, I've seen that one. It must have been pretty embarrasing having to describe that game on TV.

My favorite ones are with the entitled tweens and the really really ghetto chicks. I wonder how JJ hasn't had a heart attack from having to deal with so many morons all day. And I wonder how she actually speaks to her family, if she does like she does in court.

I've heard that she's alot nicer in real life.

She's perfectly nice in her interviews.

I would love to deal with all those morons for millions of dollars.

It is, technically, if they made a verbal agreement (which, by law, is considered a contract. I could say "I will give you the cookie from my lunch on tuesday" and if you agree with that, it becomes a verbal contract, which is enforceable by law.) that he would take and adopt the dogs, and he broke that agreement by not adopting the dogs as his own, and trying to sell them instead, he broke that verbal contract.

That's all just making assumptions of course, since we don't know what actually happened behind the scenes. That guy is a gigantic D-bag though and was talking out his ass once he knew he was caught, and he deserved a guilty verdict. The law isn't always set in stone also, circumstances can change the reasoning behind a ruling, which is why mentally deranged people often are not held responsible for what they do that they cannot control.

The fact that the plaintiffs filed a false police report will likely be handled out-of-court, which is why they weren't punished for that on tv.

Haha the case in the OP was excellent.I love Judge Judy, she talks nothing but sense I find, it's great how she doesn't put up with any bull.

Also: "He's not Judge Judy and executioner!".

That was the first time I've actually seen Judge Judy and I quite liked it. I saw this in the related videos and I think it deserves its own mention. The theatrical approach to all these is wholly satisfying.

Is she a real judge?Lonelynight

don't think so.. from what i've heard, as long as you legally sign to it, you can approve of any third party to settle a legal dispute, as long as both parties are in agreement to it... she may have once been a judge, or maybe still is, but i believe that is what these cases fall under.. i could be wrong tho.

The snowboarding one Clip from episode

I forgot what exactly the claims were over but that guy was an expert troller, also tons of funny moments in that episode. People's Court is worth a watch too. Judge Marilyn Milian is like Judge Judy 2.0 :P
