So I was watching the latest Cap Trailer and realized just how much great content we are getting from Marvel lately. I mean they gave us all the films, including both Avengers films, Guardians, and Winter Soldier among others. Not only that, but Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has been so sooo good this season, also Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Agent Carter have all been really quite excellent.

So the question is what show or film in the MCU has been your favorite thus far? I think mine may be Daredevil (still watching Jessica Jones), but for me the list is officially large enough to make it a really difficult choice.

Have never been able to get on with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Guess it just looks really cheap.

@transk53: Ditto.

Daredevil I enjoyed very much, it was a surprise.

Not meaning to be an ass but I kinda want MCU to die because I really don't care for Superhero movies or over bloated action flicks in general. Hell I didn't even like The Dark Knight.

Well, you're in luck, probably going to get getting starwars related movies every year for the rest of your life coupled with imitators.

@cabaretvoltaire: well you don't have to contribute your money to superhero films.

@transk53: I kinda agree with the cheap feel of it, but again I'm specifically referring to this latest season which has really stepped up its game.

@cabaretvoltaire: Why does the fact that it exists bother you? There are other things that you can be entertained by. Not everything is made for everyone. Don't like MCU, don't watch their movies or shows. Seems easy enough.

Just finished binging Jessica Jones. REALLY GOOD. Much different tone than the movies, I dig it.

As for the movies, Id say Captain America: Winter Soldier is my favorite so far.

Guardians of the Galaxy was the best one imo. Decent amount of character development and a heavy focus on the antiheroes. Story was your typical, "here's this thing that can destroy all the things," but I didn't mind for this one. It was funny, clever, and had tons of action. I liked it.

Captain America: First Avenger and Winter Soldier come to mind as well but mostly because I like Captain America. I think he represents the best of American values and the movies make him a pretty modest and cool guy.

@straightcur: Is it working to want Hollywood to focus on more original ideas and return to treating film as art rather than just jingling keys in front of infants?

@cabaretvoltaire: There are plenty of those movies too. You should check them out. The great thing about the movie industry is that there is room for all different kinds. Sometimes pure escapism is great, sometimes deep and thought provoking, sometimes a good laugh, or the thrill of being scared. Why does one have to limit the other? They are all there, you just need to look harder sometimes.

Then do the people who WANT to talk about this a favor by leaving them be instead of ruining the discussion for everyone else. And check the insults at the door, too. You say you don't mean to be an ass, but when you post things like this:

it's not making you look good, as well as putting you on our radar.

I went in with zero expectations and came out incredibly surprised. I knew literally nothing about the comics (aside from Thanos and the Infinity War) and enjoyed the fact all the characters had unique personalities and some great development. Most other comic book movies are largely one-dimensional in the character department.

Guardians of the Galaxy. Only saw it I got on DVD. Surprisingly, I found Zoe Saldana in character, a bit underwhelming. Almost the sense she just literally did the film for the pay packet. Thought Lee Pace did a great job as Ronan.

I haven't seen a lot of the Marvel stuff, but I'd say that Guardians of the Galaxy is by far the best one I've watched. It just felt like it wasn't afraid to be itself. It was really charming and refreshing because of this.

Yeah I'm totally loving the MCU. My favourite movie so far has been The Avengers: Age of Ultron and have really enjoyed all the other films. Right now X-Men Apocalypse is my most anticipated movie. I watched the first season of Daredevil and really enjoyed that.

I think Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy has been the 2 best films of the MCU. I've only watched Daredevil on the TV side of things and that was actually quite good.

Every disney made marvel anything has been boring, corny, "kill me now this movie sucks" garbage.

The tobey spiderman films and the first 2 hulks are the only decent marvel films.

Id rather watch the dark knight rises on rerun than all of the marvel movies combined. They are just too much of a sellout kiddy type films.

tbh I am loving most of them, except maybe all the Spidermans (though Garfield's Spiderman has been OK).

Daredevil series was pretty damn well done, imo. Waiting to watch Jessica Jones after binge watching some Justice League for a bit...hey, gotta stay impartial! I love all my kids equally, and so on.

Film-wise I will have to say either the Iron Man movies (they're all so great) or The Avengers.

I know it is DC, but I hope they bring us a Justice League movie. I think they are. The Batman v Superman movie is a good setup for it.

@GameboyTroy:

Reading that Mark Dacascos has been it, will have to look out for those episodes.
