Lil Wayne, although he is a mainstream rapper he still has the best lyrics.  He is a poet the way he spits his metaphors, and unlike just about all other southern rappers he actually speaks outside of the color of his car and what rims it has.  Anybody who hasen't listened to any of his mixtapes, or recent albums that disagree's don't bother commenting.  Outside of him I have been listening to a lot of Rakiehm and Nas old albums.  It Was Written FTW! ;)

The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest, Sage Francis, Cypress Hill, Deltron 3030, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, and De La Soul to name a few. I love hip-hop but I HATE rap with a passion.

I think there is some decent rap out there, but most of it is just meaningless rhyming.

Well, I don't like rap anymore...but when I did I liked all of the mainstream crap. I take that back I still have like two rap songs on my ipod and some eminem. (Boy was I into Eminem.) I stopped liking it when I looked at my pale skin and realized this isn't for me. Now I'm just into Techo, Jrock and Jpop, and just some other rock. But hey... in my car every now and then I turn on some country so I'm one to say something.

Yup and like me I have respect for all kinds of music.  I love Jazz, clasical, Rap, Rock.  Country is the only format I dont like.  But even then I love and have a lot of respect for the old country artists like Patsy Kline, Jonhnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr. etc.

I'm confused...


The majority of people on GameSpot don't like rap/hip hop. Of course I can't prove this, but I'm sure that if you asked a lot of people on here what they preferred, more would say rock.
