On a side note, does anyone know if ranch dressing is healthy or not? And another question to go along with this topic: Do you put a little bit or dressing on your salads or a lot? I usually put a lot, mostly because lettuce on its own doesn't have much of a taste. If there's other things in the salad like cheese or croutons then I usually don't put as much, but when it's just lettuce, I put a lot.
French, honey mustard, or blue cheese are my favorite common dressings. However, my absolute favorite is a tahini-based dressing from a company called Annie's Naturals (or something like that). It's divine! :D
Commercially prepared dressings are crap- mostly based on GMO soybean oil.
My fave is white wine vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, black pepper, and sea salt. Occasionally I will substitute balsamic vinegar and/or add wholegrain Dijon mustard...throwing in freshly chopped tarragon is good too.
