I've only seen the very first episode of it and I thought it was stupid.

Season 4. I'm currently watching season 5. Season 3 is by far the worst.

The first half dragged constantly. There were so many filler episodes that I almost fell asleep. It started to pick up about half way, and had a great finale - but that didn't make up for the ridiculously boring first half.

How can you possibly think Season 3 is the best with episodes such as Expose and Stranger in a Strange Land? Definitely 2 of the worst episodes ever...

Oh, god. I just looked up those episodes. They are definitely among the worst of Lost. That ****ing flashback segment with Jack in Stranger in a Strange Land is awful.

Don't even get me started on Expose..

Season 4 is by far one of the best but season 1 made me fall in love... Soo.... its season 1. I hated season 2-3.

I thought that Seasons 2 and 3 both sort of sucked.

1 was great. 4 was a nice return to quality, and probably my favorite season. Season 5 was also good, but...
The whole time travel thing could have been condensed or something, I think. Watching the characters spending so much time hanging out with the Dharma initiative in the past, things just felt like they weren't actually going anywhere. And then the season finale with the bomb. We see them trying to keep their plane from ever crashing, which is just forced idiocy. It'd be one thing if the idiocy of the characters came NATURALLY. But what the characters are doing flies in the face of reason when you consider what they already know. It's like the writers FORCED the characters to become morons just to advance the plot. That's too contrived, and it doesn't work. Particularly when OTHER CHARACTERS are in on it. They actually had Miles clearly explain to everyone why what they're doing is dumb as hell, and the other characters just continue to run around pointlessly like headless chickens.
Anyway, I still liked season 5 mostly, but it was a drop in quality from season 4. I'm highly anticipating season 6, and the conclusion to the series. But so far, best seasons were 1 and 4.

Bai Ling just killed it... And in Expose, they actually spent a lot of money on that episode. They had to recreate scenes which included the plane crash scene from the beginning of the Pilot. What a waste...

Those 3 are my most hated. Those are the only ones I didn't really enjoy. I liked the beat down Locke bestowed upon Charlie though

That season where for an entire week the advertise a massive reveal that gets minimal reference in the episode, topped by another ridiculous plot strand that leads to another loose end that the producers have to bluff their way through in order to try and fail to make some semblance of sense out of, and that left the viewer with a growing sense of disgruntlement and fading patience yet invested enough in the stupidity to be compelled to give it "just one more chance" next week. That season.

Great comeback, hope you didn't stay up too late working on that. You'd take up time better spent convincing yourself that Lost ISN'T the biggest cluster**** since Little Big Horn.

I don't see how you can reasonably say that, unless you happen to know how the series ends.

We're 5/6ths of the way through the overall story. Do you routinely go to a two hour movie, and then walk out of the cinema and skip the last 20 minutes? If so, fair enough. But at that point, you sort of give up all credibility when stating that it's worthless. If you sat through 5/6ths of it and then walked out right before the end, then you're really not in any position to critique it.

I'm pretty sure you compared a 2 hour movie to a 5 year wait. And if you go to the dunny and take 2 hours to back out a ****, it's still **** at the end.

Have you watched this past season? Questions are answered. It answered more than it asked and this final season coming up is said to answer all MAJOR questions and some minor ones too.

Course I didn't watch this season - I looked at it the same way I look at an ex GF. If something doesn't work after 3 years and ends up becoming a chore rather than something you love, it is time to pull the plug and move on.

You have all the right to express your feelings the way you did, but without seeing the last 2 seasons, what you said completely means nothing now. Just because you were left unsatisfied and gave up is your fault and not a reason to bash it because it didn't give you answers. It is now, so its your loss.

Yes, I do wish I gave many more hours of my life to Pablo Picasso's surreal audiovisual wet dream. Then I shrug and realise that sandpapering my wang would be a less painful pastime.

Ten minutes, 2 hours, 3 weeks, six years. It's irrelevant. We're still talking about an overall narrative that is supposedly building up to a satisfactory resolution.

Hell, Lord of the rings took three years to reach the end, with each one being three hours long. More than anything though, you just seem to be pissed off that the seeries isn't ending NOW. There was obviously "filler material" throughout the series, but you just seem to be acting all angry that you were promised everything to be revealed and then lied to. That's why you should NEVER trust advertisements. But dude, the fact that the ads lied to you doesn't have any bearing on the quality of the series.

And no, plot threads are still left hanging, because the series isn't finished. Maybe the ending will suck, or maybe everything will come into place when the series ends. But it's sort of hard to tell one way or another until the series actually DOES reach its conclusion. Right now, we're 5/6ths of the way towards the end, and there'es no way to tell how much audiences were being jerked around until we see exactly where the series was heading. It's a continuous narrative with a beginning and an end.

I will put it this way: Remember the "cliffhanger ending" in Season One? I was watching it in a military rec room and that ending pissed so many people off a chair was thrown at the TV. You cannot fake that kinda hatred.

Yes but I never got the impression that someone was ****ing with me in that movie. And "Luke, I am your father" is a classic. "Kate, we have to go back" is a punchline.

Yes, because that was the only thing that anyone ever spoke during the entire first season.

Furthermore, you're pulling quotes from later seasons in order to criticize season 1. If doing that is fair game, then let me criticize Empire Strikes Back by bringing up absolutely anything that Jar-Jar Binks ever said.

Anyway, you can have gotten whatever impression you like. You also don't watch the series, so you must admit that your impressions are based on ignorance. You're entitled to hate the show, but you also dropped out of it sometime in season 3. So when it comes to any kind of critique on the series as a whole, you DON'T know what you're talking about. It's as simple as that.

Season 4 and 5 are my favorite definately. 1 was great as well, but 4 and 5 were just to good storywise. Plus Faraday and all his physics stuff is great to listen to IMO.

Butthurt much? I'm criticising the show in general, you're the obsessive who is categorising my blanket disdain for that guff. And so in other words, anyone who has ever hated something so much they turned it off has zero perspective on something? Nice argument. In fact, your logic is too brain-haltingly irritating to carry on with. Maybe over-exposure to such illogical nonsense has stunted mental growth. But what would I know, I swtiched that **** off, my opinion is invalid... *slow clap*

Absolutely correct. If you HAVEN'T seen/heard/felt/tasted something, then you are not in any position to pose as a critic.

If you walk out of a movie because you think it sucks, then you DO throw away all of your credibility when it comes time for criticism.

That is how criticism works.

If this concept is somehow mindboggling to you, then that's really your problem.

No that was a yawn. Implying your logic, which amounts to "If it sucked so bad you walked out, you can't have an opinion" is too stupid to be interesting. But you're the one who invoked everyting from chronological errors to The Holy Trinity in order to make me see that your show is "good" - tears aren't mine, princess.

I didn't say the show was good. Maybe next time, you could actually try reading what you're replying to (which is admittedly unlikely, seeing as how you think it is fair game to provide a value judgement on something that you've never even seen).

Hahaha you really are trying hard aren't you... Perhaps take your own advice and read the part where I turned it off after three seasons... You're right, though, I am assuming... I only figured if you get this butthurt you must be pretty invested. Silly me, I guess you were just looking for an argument. Well, keep practising, I'm sure you'll get better.

Hahaha you really are trying hard aren't you... Perhaps take your own advice and read the part where I turned it off after three seasons... You're right, though, I am assuming... I only figured if you get this butthurt you must be pretty invested. Silly me, I guess you were just looking for an argument. Well, keep practising, I'm sure you'll get better.D3nnyCrane

So...how does that NOT mean that you HAVEN'T seen an entire 50% of the series?

Now that you ADMIT that you are judging half of the series without seeing it, then I'm assuming that you will stop pretending like you are actually performing informed criticism.

At what point did I say that I was? All I ever said was after three years of watching terrible television I turned it off. Tell you what - if this is so important to you, have the last word. I've gotten all the amusement I can take listening to someone who judges importance by watching a tv show. Enjoy your acne and virginity, I'm off to the gym.

I have no words for the magical direction this thread sputtered drunkenly toward.

Season Two is actually my favorite, I thought the introduction of the Darma initiative was a fascinating development, every episode I only wanted to know more about what this team was, why they exist, what were their goals? The hatch was very interesting as well, the big floating question mark looming over what would happen if the timer ran out created a nice tension throughout the season.

Season 5 was probably just as good, I love how the story is finally coming together. Leaving just enough breathing room for analysis and speculation over a few finer details, yet I must say the overly broad, ambitious nature of this plot has come together significantly more rationally than I ever could have predicted. For a Sci-Fi plot, anyway.

No, that's not all you ever said.

Quote by D3nnyCrane: "I'm criticising the show in general".

Try again.

Season 1 easily. Season 2 was just a rehash only not as exciting. Season 3 felt like it ran out of ideas in the second half whereas Season had problems especially at the start managed to redeem itself with some fresh ideas. As for Season 5, its completely different to what Lost as been, but even then, it just was as good.
Season 4. My list is as follows:

S4

S1

S5

S2

S3

How can you possibly think Season 3 is the best with episodes such as Expose and Stranger in a Strange Land? Definitely 2 of the worst episodes ever...

sammyjenkis898

Oh, god. I just looked up those episodes. They are definitely among the worst of Lost. That ****ing flashback segment with Jack in Stranger in a Strange Land is awful.

Don't even get me started on Expose..

Nikki was SO hot though, i wish they never got rid of her:shock:

Wait, do you think it is terrible TV because it left you with questions and cliffhangers? I hope you knew they established the series would end after 6 seasons during Season 3. So that meant that questions would be answered in those final 3 seasons which they finally are and it is spectacular.

Season 5 is amazing. The finale and LaFleur are some of the best LOST episodes ever.

I think all seasons are great and all have some brilliant episodes, I feel that Season 3 was the worst because I think the first half was a bit repetitive and the second half just seemed a bit lazy (as much as I like Season 3.. there isn't a Season I would necessarily call bad). I love Season 5 and the episode "The Incident Parts 1 and 2" is the best episode so far imo :P. But my list would go like this:

S5
S4
S2
S1
S3

How could you rate Season 4 so low :o It has The Constant, which is arguably the best episode ever!

Oh look, people persist in BAWWWWW'ing after I've totally lost interest in it... I watched as much as I needed to make up my mind that it is hogwash. If you need to believe that I'm, wrong, well, I pity you. Now shut up, piss off, die, and leave me alone.

"Now shut up, piss off, die, and leave me alone." Wait..what? Your telling a person to shut up on the internet, then your telling them to piss off..on the internet. Then your telling us to DIE because you don't like LOST. And then you tell us to leave you alone. Your on the internet, just get off the computer. Your opinions on LOST are flawed as you haven't even watched the whole series. Anything you say won't change that. So don't bother with this thread.
