A working dog is where its at! I grew up with different dog breeds and by far the Labrador was the smartest. They could hunt for a living, when they were trained properly as a pup. Corgis could work as well, herding cows, is what mine did. and, the neighbors hated my corgi for that. :P

I have a white Siberian Husky with dark green eyes. They are beautiful, but they shed excessively. Typically, huskies hardly bark (if at all), but mine barks a decent amount (sometimes too much).

If I ever get another dog, I will consider the Weimaraner:

weimaraner5.jpg

At this point though, I don't see myself getting another pet for several years if at all.

*Edit* I do like my Husky though. I should also point out that Huskies are known to be stubborn.

No breed of dog can lay a finger on the far superior felis domesticus master species, however my grandmother has a few dachshunds which I'm somewhat partial too.

Probably golden retrievers. I've had one for about 12 years now and she's been great. The dogs I hate the most are miniature dachshunds. My mom has two and they're both the spawns of Satan. They bark nonstop, are psychotic, and just annoying in every other aspect.

Rottweiler are probably my favorite. A very smart breed can be trained for almost anything. Like attack dogs, which is consequently why they are commonly a mistrusted breed. Cross breeds with them are great also. I've seen a few Rottweiler/Lab crosses that we're awesome dogs.

Grew up with three different kinds of big dogs, currently have a small dog. I can't really pick a favourite breed, because so many are so adorable that makes me wanna go ABLUBLUBLUBLUBLU I WUB YOO WUBWUBWUB /)^3^(\ but at the same time I want a dog that is a tool as much as a companion. As I live in the city in a relatively temperate nation, I find my French Bulldog is a near-perfect pet. He can run up the stairs of our house on his own, he's small enough to carry and big enough to still take bigger dumps than a chiuahua. He can't clean himself however, and he requires some maintenance with his face-folds, plus he snores and farts due to his short snout - like pugs.

I call those rug-dogs, because they look like rugs. A havanese dog is a bichon frisé kind of breed.

Basset hound, they're so awesome, apart from the fact that they're stupid, if I recall it right you can only learn them roughly about 7 things in avarage.

Rottweilers make very good dogs if you know how to train them. Grew up with one, male, he was agressive in nature but around us kids he was an angel. But without the stern discipline of my parents, he could have been dangerous. Just so you are aware.

I'll be a wet blanket and say mutts.

But some friends of mine once had a Catahoula Leopard Dog and he was a riot. Loved licking people's faces.

Been doing some research on rotties and yea it looks like it will be a mission raising one, my german shepherd is 6 months old now and he's quite a handful and im currently training him to stop being dog aggressive, just 1 question, when you were training your rottie, when did your he realize that he's not the one in-charge? At what age did he stopt trying to dominate?

I'm allergic to dogs, which isexasperated by dogs with longer hair, but my favourite dog by far is the Husky, particularly the blue-eyed Siberian Huskies.
