A working dog is where its at! I grew up with different dog breeds and by far the Labrador was the smartest. They could hunt for a living, when they were trained properly as a pup. Corgis could work as well, herding cows, is what mine did. and, the neighbors hated my corgi for that. :P
I have a white Siberian Husky with dark green eyes. They are beautiful, but they shed excessively. Typically, huskies hardly bark (if at all), but mine barks a decent amount (sometimes too much).
huskies.
my neighbor has one.

If I ever get another dog, I will consider the Weimaraner:
At this point though, I don't see myself getting another pet for several years if at all.
*Edit* I do like my Husky though. I should also point out that Huskies are known to be stubborn.
Man, this is weird, i was just about to make the exact same thread, anyway i love german sheperd but also thinking of getting a rottie in the futurej_assassinRottweilers make very good dogs if you know how to train them. Grew up with one, male, he was agressive in nature but around us kids he was an angel. But without the stern discipline of my parents, he could have been dangerous. Just so you are aware.
I'll be a wet blanket and say mutts.
But some friends of mine once had a Catahoula Leopard Dog and he was a riot. Loved licking people's faces.

Been doing some research on rotties and yea it looks like it will be a mission raising one, my german shepherd is 6 months old now and he's quite a handful and im currently training him to stop being dog aggressive, just 1 question, when you were training your rottie, when did your he realize that he's not the one in-charge? At what age did he stopt trying to dominate?
Huskies. No competition. Though I do like Collies and Golden Retrievers (give you one guess why).
