I know... its OT but I just had to ask this.
Whats your favorite VG theme ever?
Mine is the old school Guile theme from Street Fighter II. I liked it so much I made it my myspace song

One of the many songs from Ace Combat... I can't think of any names though.MattUD1
Try "Blockade", "Broken Arrows", and "Bunker Shot".
Oblivion overall had my favorite music, but I can't just choose one song from a game. Maybe the Mass Effect ending song.CrimzonTide
I personally felt Oblivion had pretty flimsy battle music. I ended up replacing it with MP3s from the Evangelion and Xenosaga OSTs. Which surprisingly fit much better.
Mass Effect had a very dissappointing soundtrack. I didn't even know it existed until the credits. It was just so weak.
Maybe the battle music was weak, but the opening symphony was great, as it was throughout the world map. But anyway, the Glaaxy Map music is pretty catchy, I've had that part stuck in my head for a long time now.I personally felt Oblivion had pretty flimsy battle music. I agree with you on Oblivion's enviornmental and opening tracks. I kept them. And yes, Mass Effect's map theme was fairly catchy. But their were a lot of instances in the game where I didn't even realize the music was playing. When I buy a game like ME, and all the reviewers are going nuts over the soundtrack, I expected it to be loud and pretentious like Halo or Crysis.

CaptHawkeyeThere certainly were some situations in Mass Effect that could of used music on an epic proportion, like during big events. Most namely the Rachni Queen, but I was disappointed there.I would also like to add Wind Waker as a game that has left a musical imprint on my mind, but then again all Zelda games have been very above-average with their soundtracks.
It's hard to choose just one.:P
But i like most of the music from Skies of Arcadia, and a lot from most Sonic The Hedgehog games.
Dunno about favourites, but right now I'm listening to the La-Mulana sound track a lot, and from that list I really like Fearless challenger ~long version~, Primitive Dance, Giant's Rage, Curse of IRON PIPE, In the bottom, Sky Tower, Ancient Machine, Death Game, Interstice of the dimention, Awaking, and Good Night Mom.
Ikaruga's OST is also very well done. I've had it on my generic game music play-list for the longest time.
