Also, Indie isn't a genre. I like A LOT of British music though. Porcupine Tree, Riverside, Frost*, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Pure Reason Revolution, etc...

Here in the UK everyone calls Alternative Rock Indie, its more the just a music genre, its also a fashion and culture thing.
