Feel sorry for Uwe Boll?

Let me first say that I have never seen an Uwe Boll movie. I have been an avid gamer for years, and have certainly heard of him. I have done some playful and entertaining research for the past hour or so, and I get the feeling that he is singled out repeatedly, and takes more than his fair share of criticism. He seems passionate about what he does, and I get the feeling he does what he does with the best intentions. What made me feel sorry for him the most is that he thought he may get rights to make a Metal Gear Solid movie, but was infact conned by two con artists.

What is your take? I have seen a million bad movies, and those directors do not take the heat that Boll does. Does he deserve the ciritcism, or is he singled out? Let me say again, that I am not aligning myself in any way with him, because I know what that could do to me around here! I should also say, again, that I have never seen any of these movies.

I wouldn't worry about it. I keep games and movies/books completely separate. So when a movie is bad I don't care.

Have you seen his videos? The dude talks trash about the actual talented movie directors and goes on and on about how his movies are masterpieces. The others that suck don't do that kind of ****, THAT's the difference. He deserves every criticism he's received.Gamer4Iife

i agree. that kind of conceit alone deserves flop after flop. but the fact that his movies are so bad just makes him all the more laughable.

He's a complete jackass. Anytime a critic or different director criticizes him, he challenges him to a boxing match. When Michael Bay said he doesn't like Uwe Boll movies, Boll got all mad and said they need to fight to see who the better director is. On the contrary, I find his movies entertaining. Sure, Postal made no sense, sure the editing and creative construction of Dungeon Siege followed no logical pattern (in fact, using "pattern" and "Dungeon Siege" in the same sentence when referencing Uwe Boll is so utterly wrong) was heinous, but they are fun to watch at least. And it doesn't hurt the DVDs come packaged with the games. It's too bad they have nothing at all to do with the source material though. Bloodrayne didn't even take place in the same era, or Postal with its marvelous game world. All the same, I am entertained by the movies.

I can't wait to see what he does to Far Cry though.

Sometimes I feel sorry for him too, like when professional reporters ask him "Why do you suck so much?"

But he's not just a bad movie creator... he's also a guy that decides to take great video game titles with a big fan base and destroy them, causing emotional pain to all those fans at the same time :P He knew what he was getting himself into so yes, he should take more heat than other bad directors.Hungry_bunny

I just hate when people attack him for "My VG game is ruined, I'll kill him", or "".

Guuuuhhh! I hate people who exaggerate their hate for him to extremes to the point of creating a severely retarded petition.

For once, PLEASE, instead of hating, why can't we just help him in his projects, I mean c'mon, you could have some suggestions in his movies to improve, or mayber he can hire a pro producer to analyze the filming process to improve.Respect Germans.

So far, He's still making films as of speak. Put down your weapons and pat on his shoulders(NO murder tendencies, tsk tsk :x). Let's hope he's getting the hang of this filming.

Besides, Postal, Far Cry, and 1968 Tunnel Rats look decent to me.
