DIABLO SWING ORCHESTRA.

Amazing with a crazy sound, female opera singer fronting the band.

Atheos-Arkhaios

I love that band! Such a unique sound.

I am suprised no one have mention Evanescence yet!Welis
Evanescence is a dark rock, gothic rock band. They're not metal.

What about female-fronted grindcore?

Nevermind. Leave that thought behind.

Cerussite
Female-fronted rapcore. Specifically Otep.

[QUOTE="PsychoT4Prez"][WTF that was the emoest song I've ever heard in my life.PsychoT4Prez

Then you don't know what the word emo means.

Emo

Emo is all death metal, screamo, bands that sing about depressing themes and cutting themselves and stuff like that.

No, actually it isn't. Why bother coming to forums and come off as a pompous know-nothing with an attitude problem?

I'm just telling it how it is. Makes no sense why you would listen to the silly songs posted in this thread when you could listen to this.

Oh yeah now that's music.

That's utter crap... I can write better songs... and I am not joking.

Yeah that's why you're on here posting about music no one but you and a few underground cults listen to. There's a reason why metal has and will always be underground it's because IT SUCKS.

Some if not most of the best music comes from the underground scene. If you're going to troll and flame, at the least do it right and at the very least pretend you have a clue of what you're talking about.

I dunno, I think female singers in metal just missuse their potential. I hate the whole girl singing opera and some random dude grunting theme that some bands have going. :( However, I like this; The Haunting(Somewhere in Time) by Kamelot, it features the singer from Lacuna Coil. :)

Erasorn
False. Cristina Scabbia from Lacuna Coil did not front The Haunting. The female vocals are provided by Simone Simons.

Arch Enemy's vocalist is the only one I've heard and liked. Mainly because she's as good as many other death metal vocalists.

No doubt she is. I always love the reaction I get when I let someone listen that doesn't know who Arch Enemy is, and tell them that the vocalist is female. Funny reaction every time.

All that metal is soft and weak. They'll never match the intensity of a group like Megadeth, or Droid, or Pantera.Franken_Berry

And there are TONS of bands more intense than the three you mentioned. It goes on and on.

The Runaways was a teenage, American all-girl rock band that performed in the 1970s. Sure, they probably influenced female bands as a whole a bit but they in no way paved the way for something more refined as female-fronted metal. I'm sorry.

I know they're not "female lead" but Gorod has a female drummer that's great.

Here's their myspace page.

Yes, the song has female vocals, but the singer was only a session musician and it in aboslutely no way makes them a female fronted band. Thats like saying Opeth is now a female fronted band because Coil from their latest album has female vocals. :|

There's a difference between having a female vocalist and a female on backup vocals. Try picking up the female-fronted CD Missbehaviour.

I quoted the wrong person. Meant to quote the person above you. Opeth is an all male Scandinavian Death Metal band. Sure Cristina Scabbia provided backing vocals but that doesn't make them female-fronted.

So what? Usually front female voacal are extremely bad. It's tiresome, it's always the same damn thing. (Nightwish style)

1. Death Metal bands don't sing about cutting themselves

2. Emo is it's own genre, it doesn't include other genres.

3. I listen to the 2 bands you posted.

4. You know nothing about music.
