Reality is cruel and hard with its ****ing social darwinism. Reality is out of ones control. Fiction can be molded.

Fiction tends to be boring if horrible things don't happen at some point, so I reject your claim OP.

well i think it's quite obvious that we prefer something we have control over to something totally random, but reality still has the upper hand since it can be felt via our 5 senses.

That is actually what I was thinking. Maybe he means the limitations of reality are boring?

Yes, that's why they're considered fantasy/fiction.

Fiction is fun to read because it isn't reality, but nothing really compares. I can say for certain I would not like to live in the Warhammer 40k universe. But taking a stroll through it every once and awhile is rather enjoyable.

The whole reason we fall into a good fictitious story is because it allows us to do things that we can never do, or escape things that we would rather forget about for a while. You can't say fiction is better than reality, because fiction is part of our reality. Even if it is ephemeral....

I changed my mind, I much prefer reality. Fantasy is nurturing, an escape... An easy way out from failure. I could fantasize all day about doing good in academics, but that will not make it occur. I can fantasize about being awesome but that does not make it happen. Sure some of the others have gifts aesthetic or not... I know that one person argued that fantasy is part of reality and I guess that is technically the case.

Fiction cannot exist without reality.

So Reality > Fiction
