I'm thinkin' about going to Aussie to get a filming degree, and well, work there cause the US' impossible to go to in my situation. So does anyone know if the movie industry there is good enough for work?I mean, they do have some connections with the big guys in the States right, and their productions are quite good. Sucks living in a tiny place with such dreams...or maybe I'll go to China...Hong Kong sounds pretty good...but my Chinese sucks... Anyone here studying filming or planning to? Thanks...

If you ever want to actually make it in cinema outside of Australia but starting off in Australia you're gonna have to try and join Neighbours. Otherwise you haven't got a shot.

We've got some good post-production companies and a few decent studios (that...might be getting more influential?), but in terms of actually going down here to make movies? I don't know, I mainly hear complaints about small budgets and not being able to compete with expensive Hollywood films. I guess it depends on the sorts of films you'd like to make, though. I mean, if you're not trying to make the next sci-fi epic, then you might be okay down here. :P Eh, I couldn't say for sure either way.

India has a huge film industry, by ticket sales they're the largest in the world.

You don't really need to know Chinese in Hong Kong. You'll do fine with English.
