So after months of posting my frustrations on the forums, I finally decided to kick this girl out of my life for good! I know this isn't a big deal to most of you, but its a great deal to me financially and emotionally. I knew it was the right time to let her go when all the red flags were popping up in my head. Here are my reasons for the termination of the relationship:

-Always taking and not giving

-Always wanted me to do most of the work in the relationship

-Lying about little things for no reason

-Had a child from a previous bad relationship

-No future goals in life

Well now that she is out of my life, I feel this burden has finally been lifted of my shoulders.

Thoughts?

1. Congrats! :)

2. How did she take things?

3. Have you got a contingency plan, just in case the initial euphoria fades and you find yourself lonely and miserable?

Some years back after dating a girl for over two years we ended the relationship. I was ecstatic about it. A friend asked, "You are not upset about it?" My response was simple, "I suppose that's why we broke up." These days me and her are friends but for a time we had a lot of issues to work out between us.

this is true, you have to push through and try not to be influenced by any outside factors. Don't talk to her or her friends or any body who might try to convince you to get back together.

Nice job man, I remember your previous thread and it sounded like you were being put in a bad position because she only had her own interests in mind. Glad you got it sorted out, as I think she was leading you down a bad path. Thanks for all the positive feedback!

Dont worry, I'm not going back and if she tries to contact me, I'll ignore her. I would rather be alone than to be with someone that makes my life miserable.

Good job!!! Plenty of viable reasons to break up.

Broke up with my ex 6-7 months ago.

-lied about little things for no discerible reason.

-Mother controlled most of her money and spent most of it (still perplexed by this one).

-Was insane.

I had a no kid rule until I hit 30 (now 32). I'll consider a woman with one kid now, no more.

Any guy that uses that line when referring to an ex was most likely the problem to begin with -- I'll never understand why every so many guys who break up with their girl calls them crazy/insane/psycho, etc. JUST BECAUSE IT DIDN"T WORK OUT DOESN"T MEAN WE WERE CRAZY!!!!

If you read the other thread you will learn that she was pushing him to do things that he wasn't ready for, and apparently they were unable to compromise like a couple who truly cares about each other should be able to.

I dated her for almost two years. A few months in I broke up with her for 2 weeks to date another girl ( I know, dick move). Everyday of that 2 weeks she left 20-30 voicemails and 100+ texts. It even got to the point that I was having my new gf answer the phone and telling her to F' off. It stressed my new gf out so much she left and I stupidly got back with the psycho.

She faked a pregnancy after this (she eventually came clean months after the "miscarriage").

In her defense she had severe daddy issues (stepdad molested her) and her mom was a bad alcoholic. I will admit that for the last year of our relationship I knew I needed to leave her, but I guess I just got comfortable. It was a monstrous thing to do.

Because some women are insane. Overcontrolling, overly emotional, clingy sort-of-insane. I'm guessing you've been called insane/psycho before by an ex-lover?

lol! Even though I was just messing around about it, thnx for the explanation. But like, usually details like that tend to be greatly blown out of proportion(number of text and voicemails).

5 text messages = 500 for men

2 voice messages = 50

And i'm willing to bet that most of the time, they only receive those because the guy just faded out without any explanation and she just wants to know whats going on overall. Mens are usually cowards when it comes to breakups. But if all true, then point proven. Definitely crazy!

Because some women are insane. Overcontrolling, overly emotional, clingy sort-of-insane. I'm guessing you've been called insane/psycho before by an ex-lover?

OMAQ5.gifMaybe behind my back by the ones who were manipulative, emotional abusing, ****s who like to use terms like that just to avoid their own faults. But I doubt it.

Every last one of my exes were @ssholes to me in one way or another, but I don't throw dirt on them in front of others because of it. There will always be some love there no matter how little overall, despite any problems I've had with them. I feel they deserve that amount of respect and anything less is just being totally sour -- especially when i'm suppose to had moved on from it. Also, even if I did throw dirt, that would probably just make other girls more interested in finding out for themseleves anyways.

Not sure how anyone's thoughts here matter. It's your life, your decision, you live with it. Sounds like the right decision to me but the perfect girlfriend doesn't exist and in reality, we must all make compromises. I always try to bear that in mind.

It's all true and the number of voicemails/texts is not exaggerated at all.

As for the fading out without an explanation; I explained my reasons very clearly and precisely.

1) I was tired of her CONSTANT lying. I mean she was lying about little stuff that there was no reason to lie about.

2) I was moving to another state for college (moving in 2 weeks as we speak). I don't do the long distance stuff and to be blunt I wanted my options open again.

This ended up with her calling my housephone 20-40 times a day and accusing me of having someone else everytime I picked up. It eventually stopped after 2-3 days.

Well my ex drives her fathers car after he took ate a shotgun in the back seats. She had no job, always wanted me to buy stuff and it was my fault if I didn't have any money. She practically begged me to let her move in and wanted me to sign MY car over to her and put her name on all purchases, the minute I said no she called into question my trust in her. Now she lives with her motherin her second home because she burnt the first one down and is now on medication. So everything worked out well enough for me, I didn't give up and basically give her all my stuff because she asked me to, and it wasn't my house she set on fire. She was crazy and has the certificate to prove it.

I'm 20 and my girlfriend has been trying to get me to move in with her for a year now. Like you, I'm perfectly happy elsewhere (at my parents). She doesn't have a kid. She can't seem to get along with any roommate that she lives with and often puts pressure on me. I simply told her that it's not going to happen until I'm ready (financially and mentally), and she's come to accept that. To me, it doesn't sound like you were too fond of your girlfriend to begin with.

I like a confident woman, but that sounds like she wanted to dominate you. Psycho lady.

New thread in Nov confirmed.

[QUOTE="Boddicker"]

TecmoGirl

Any guy that uses that line when referring to an ex was most likely the problem to begin with -- I'll never understand why every so many guys who break up with their girl calls them crazy/insane/psycho, etc. JUST BECAUSE IT DIDN"T WORK OUT DOESN"T MEAN WE WERE CRAZY!!!!

You are all crazy, we date as many girls as crazy to get to the least crazy of you.

In your situation, it was necessary. But if me and my GF broke up, I would be a wreck.

I wish there is a girl out there like that. It would a dream come true.
