"Disney has officially announced thatĀ Finding Dory, a sequel to the 2003 hit animated film Finding Nemo, will be released in theaters November 25, 2015.

Ellen DeGeneres will be reprising her role as Dory, a forgetful but well meaning regal blue tang who helps clownfish Marlin (Albert Brooks) search for his lost son, Nemo (Alexander Gould). Brooks will also be reprising his role, but Gould will likely be recast.

Ā

DeGeneres said she had been waiting for the day the sequel would finally come to fruition for a very long time.

Im not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating Toy Story 16. But the time they took was worth it, DeGeneres said in a Disney press release. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: Its got a lot of heart, its really funny, and the best part isits got a lot more Dory.

Andrew Stanton, who directed the first film, will also be returning for the sequel. Stanton said, There is no Dory without Ellen. She won the hearts of moviegoers all over the world not to mention our team here at Pixar.

Stanton added that one thing that the Pixar team had in mind while they were working on Finding Nemo was the question of why Dory was by herself when she first met Marlin. It turns out that Dory was every bit as lost at the titular character.

In Finding Dory, she will be reunited with her loved ones, learning a few things about the meaning of family along the way, Stanton said.

Finding Dory takes place one year after Finding NemoĀ and will feature some favorites from the original, including the Tank Gang. Part of the film will take place along the California coastline, quite a ways from the Great Barrier Reef where the first film took place.

Finding NemoĀ was the second highest-grossing film the year it came out and was the highest-grossing G-rated film of all time untilĀ Toy Story 3Ā was released. It is also the third highest-grossing animated film and Ā the best-selling DVD of all time.

Are you excited forĀ Finding Dory?"

http://www.inquisitr.com/600234/finding-dory-swims-into-theaters-november-2015/Ā I hope it's good because I loved Finding Nemo.

This! I loved The Incredibles, favorite Pixar film by far. Instead we get a sequel to a film that didn't need one and Planes.Ā

What's so good about The Incredibles? Finding Nemo was far better than The Incredibles.

Both it and Finding Nemo are great films, but it's seems so obvious to me that The Incredibles is more suited to a sequel than the self-contained story that was Finding Nemo.

Excited for this. Finding Nemo was one of my favorites. Hoping a sequel to The Incredibles is somewhere down the road too. Seeing how Finding Nemo was released in 2003 and The Incredibles in 2004, there is hope.

Hopefully this is not a retread of the story in Finding Nemo. Also, hopefully, they put the same effort into the animation as Finding Nemo.

I don't think they'll make it a exact clone, that wouldn't seem right.

They'd have to translate the game, Rise of the Underminer into a film though.

I hope this isn't a copy of Finding Nemo, it sounds kind of like a nostolgia trip with Dory instead of Nemo from the very brief description. Regardless there's a 99% chance I'll see it in theaters.

One pattern I don't like from Pixar is their current affinity for sequels, only one non-sequel from pixar since 2009 (Brave), with the next original title from Pixar coming out in 2014 (the dinosaur one). Between those 5 years we have Cars 2, Monsters inc 2, and Toy Story 3, with Finding Nemo 2 coming out a year later. As long as Pixar is pumping out high quality stuff I won't complain though.

Not sure I'm looking forward to this one. Dory was a good side-kick but her own story? (Makes me think of UGH--Cars2, which wasn't about McQueen but Mater, which is probably why it didn't do that well.)
