Which do you prefer, using you fingers or using a pick to play the bass? I switch depending on what sound I want

Depends on what sound I'm after, I like the sound it produces when using a pick, but I like the versatility that comes with playing with the fingers.....

I switch depending on sound, like you, but I generally prefer finger.

I used to do finger and slap mostly, but after listening to arcade fire, I've started to learn how to strum a bass. It's an extremely unique sound playing chords on it :).

I've always been a thumb type of guy- just a matter of comfort. Like others have stated, different types of music call for different styles of playing, though.

Finger all the way. I have sort of a strange technique that I've developed for it, but I can play faster with one finger than most people can with a pick. Plus I love the sound.

I can play either way, but I prefer fingers. It's a little more clumsy but I like the sound better
