First Movie Review of "300" (4/5)

im lost i just heard of this movie like 2 days ago. is it about spartans at the battle of thermopolie?blackacidevil96

2) just heard of it, theres been tons of commercials and talk about it all over this forum

3)based on frank millers graphic novel called 300, which is based on the battle of thermopalyea

well ive seen all the trailers and all like ten of the clips, and put them together and i find them better than most movies. Ive just gotten so hocked on spartans and threr culture and the war that any movie with them will be awesome. But yes  i could be let down.

This is not true. There's another film from years and years ago that was also about the Battle of Thermopylae. I've forgotten its name, and tried and failed to find it on Google. But I watched it about a year ago, and it was truly awful. They try to bring a love story into it!!!

I'm not saying that 300 will be bad, just saying that it is possible for a film with the Spartans in to still be bad =P

This movie is so much different so dont bother comparing it to anything. Its based on the graphic novel, so any movie about the battle wont be anything like this one will be. Plus ive seen the original movie call 300 spartans, made in like the fifties, wasnt bad, but was real old. But unless you care as amuch about spartans as i do then you would know what i mean about any movei with them being good.

I dont like critics but when it comes to rottentomateo, and there is like 100 critics out of 120 saying the movie is bad then i will never go see it in the theather, and wont buy it unless i see it over a friends house because i wont risk wasting the moeny, because although critics may be wrong, with that percentyou gotta be curious about why so many hate it.

*sighs* I think you're being slightly overly defensive. I'm not saying that just because the other film from years ago was bad, this one will be too. I was just saying that just because something involves the Spartans, it isn't automatically amazing.

Too be honest, I don't care much about the Battle of Thermopylae, for the completely irrational reason that it was taught to me by an awful teacher, but I needed the grades to get into the university of my choice, and I was so worried that I wasn't going to get into the university because he was going to make me fail. And now, thinking about that period of history makes me think of him. And I hate him. I know it's not fair, but I can't help it...

And I naturally prefer anything Roman to anything Greek, but that's another matter =P
